2014 Estes Park Duck Race Charity Key Messages The following information can be helpful in educating your members/volunteers/constituents and crafting your own promotional materials. Summary The annual Rotary of Estes Park Duck Race has supported local charities in the Estes Valley since 1989. The 2014 Duck Race will be held on May 3rd, 2014. With each adoption, an Estes Valley charity is selected to receive 95% or $19 of the adoption fee. As ducks cross the finish line on May 3rd, their adoptive “parents” have the chance to win great prizes. The event itself is a fun family outing with lots of music and entertainment. (You do not need to be present to win.) Key Messages  Mountain Strong Flood Recovery is the theme of the 2014 Duck Race  Ducks may be adopted online at epduckrace.org or facebook.com/EPDuckRace using a credit card or by submitting an adoption form with cash or check  95% or $19 of the duck adoption fee goes to the selected charity  Each adopted duck provides the chance to win one prize (list of prizes is available at epduckrace.org)  You do not need to attend the event to win a prize (although the race event is a lot of fun!) Other Things to Know  Duck adoptions are not tax deductible, the adoption purchases a chance to win  The race is a game of chance, odds of winning depend upon the total number of ducks adopted
