EU Digital COVID Certificate What is the EU Digital COVID Certificate? The EU Digital COVID Certificate is a document, in digital or paper format, which will facilitate the free movement of citizens within the European Union during the covid-19 pandemic, but is neither a precondition for movement nor a real free transit. There are three types of certificates (vaccination, test and recovery) and when traveling, certificate holders

will,

in

principle,

exempt

from

restrictions on free movement, as Member States should not impose additional travel restrictions to their holders, unless they are proportionate and necessary to protect public health. Since July 1st, travellers with an EU Digital COVID Certificate are allowed to travel, for any reason, to Portugal. However, please note that the Certificate may not exempt holders, depending on the worsening of the epidemiological situation, from complying with additional public health measures upon arrival in the Member State of destination. It is therefore advisable to check in advance the information regarding the destination country. Also be aware that, in Portugal, the presentation of a Digital Certificate does not require the presentation Page

Hotel bookings Hotels, aparthotels, resorts and other tourist accommodation are getting ready for the longawaited return. Know what to expect!

Hotel booking cancelation The possibility of cancelling a hotel booking must be verified in accordance with the agreed conditions and the reason that justifies it. In this sense, any cancellation that may occur must be analyzed, taking into account what has been agreed between the parties, as well as what derives from the terms and conditions of the online platform at stake.

However, there are also several doubts that this option raises, since in the context of this activity there is a proliferation of offers that take on a different nature, such as the motorhome’s marketplace. Objective of the programme Allows consumers to accumulate the amount of VAT paid on consumption made in the accommodation, culture and restaurants, during the months of June, July and August, creating a kind of account, from which results a final accumulated balance. This balance will be specifically calculated by the Tax and Customs Authority (AT) during the month of September and may be used in the months of October, November and December.

vouchers should also be made available.

2

If you had a ticket for a festival that did not take place, check the shows to be held by the same promoter that allow the use of the issued vouchers, the place and method for using them.

3

Check the show's capacity and the need to take or not a SARS-CoV-2 diagnostic test to access the show.

Gyms The beach and good weather usually go hand in hand with an active and healthy life. During the state of emergency, gyms and fitness centres remained closed. Swimming pools All pool technicians must keep up-to-date records of water quality results and tests. Furthermore, mechanisms for disinfecting the water circuit must be reinforced, and emphasis should be given on mandatory hand hygiene at the entrance to the pool pier.

FAQS I would like to join a gym only during the holiday period, i.e., for 15 days. Can I sign up without any binding period? The content of fitness centre contracts is not regulated by law, so parties are free to determine what they wish to be set out in the contract, provided that the terms are not in fact unfair. It is allowed to include a loyalty clause in the contract, however you can negotiate with the service provider an alternative, since you will not benefit from the period stipulated therein. We advise you to read the contract, ask for a copy and make sure that the contract you’ve signed does not actually have any clause regarding a binding period, otherwise early termination of the contract may have as a consequence the payment of the outstanding monthly fees.
