FIFTH STREET COMMINITY GARDEN
FOR THIS PROJECT, MY GROUP WAS ASKED TO DESIGN A COMMUNITY GARDEN FOR THE CITY OF MADISON, GA. WE OPTED TO INCLUDE RAISED BEDS, ONE LARGE IN-GROUND PLOT, AND SOME ACCISSIBLE TALL BEDS. WE DECIDED TO USE A HEXAGON BED SHAPE TO MAXIMIZE THE NUMBER OF BEDS WE COULD FIT, TO PROMOTE A SENSE OF COMMUNITY BY OFFERING A SHARED CENTRAL BED, AND TO REFLECT TOUR BEEHIVE THEME.
04
THE COMMUNITY GARDEN IS SITED WITH A BEEHIVE GARDEN FILLED WITH POLLINATOR PLANTS. THESE BEES HELP TO POLLINATE ALL OF THE PLANTS
GROWING ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE GARDEN. WE DECIDED TO REPURPOSE THE EXISTING TREE STUMP BY USING IT AS A FOOTER FOR A LITTLE FREE LIBRARY. THIS HELPS TO MAKE THE SITE SUITABLE FOR USERS OF ALL AGES, FROM KIDS TO THE ELDERLY.
05
HERE, YOU CAN SEE MY MASTERPLAN OF THE SITE, WHICH INCLUDED A FIREPIT PATIO, RAISED PLANTING BEDS, AND A BIRD WATCHING SPACE. THE TWO SECTIONS HELP TO VISUALIZE THE SLOPE ACROSS THE SITE, AS THE GRADING PLAN DETAILS

FOR THIS PROJECT, I WAS COMMISSIONED TO DESIGN LANDSCAPING OF A HOUSE FOR AN ELDERLY COUPLE. WITH THIS IN MIND, I HAD TO FIGURE OUT A WAY TO MAKE THE SITE AND ALL OF ITS SPACES ADA ACCESSIBLE. THISREQUIRED ME TO SITE AN ADA WALK FROM THE STREET TO THE HOUSE.

SKETCHUP PERSPECTIVES
FOR THIS PROJECT, MY GROUP WAS ASKED TO PROPOSE A REDESIGN OF THE GEORGIA SQUARE MALL SITE. WE DECIDED TO CONVERT THE VAST RETAIL SPACE INTO A LIVELY MIXED USE COMMUNITY. WE FOCUSED ON HOW TO DEAL WITH THE SITE’S STORMWATER RUNOFF AND HOW TO MINIMIZE PARKING SPACE.
MY TEAM’S DESIGN FEATURES
A MASSIVE LAND BRIDGE THAT SPANS OVER “UNDERGROUND” PARKING. ATOP THIS BRIDGE IS THE CENTRAL GREENSPACE AND THE RETAIL CORE. THIS UNIQUE STRUCTURE IS ILLUSTRATED IN THE SKETCHUP PERSPECTIVES. IN THE FRONT AND THE REAR, THERE ARE STORMWATER MITIGATIONS AS AMMENITIES.
09
THE PROPOSED SITE IS FURNISHED WITH TWO POOLS, A CLUBHOUSE, AND A SET OF TENNIS COURTS, ALL CENTRALIZED IN ONE AREA.THIS AMMENITY AREA WAS GRADED UTILIZING MANY SITE WALLS.THE TWO SECTIONS ABOVE ILLUSTRATE THIS AMMENITY AREA.

FOR THIS PROJECT, I WAS ASSIGNED TO DESIGN A SPACE BASED ON AN ASSIGNED LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT’S STYLE. WE WERE CONFINED TO A COURTYARD BOUNDED BY A BUILDING ON THREE SIDES. THE DESIGNER ASSIGNED TO ME WAS VLADIMIR DJUROVIC.
THE CONCEPT FOR THIS DESIGN IS FOR THE SPACE TO BE A MEMORIAL FOR THE BEIRUT PORT EXPLOSION IN 2020. VLADIMIR DJUROVIC HAS DESIGNED MANY MEMORIALS THROUGHOUT LEBANON IN HIS CAREER, AND THIS PROJECT IS THE NEXT STEP. THIS SITE OFFERS ITS USERS A SPACE TO REMEMBER THIS TRAGEDY BY CONNECTING WITH NATURE. THE LEFT HALF OFFERS AN OPEN SPACE TO REFLECT, AND THE RIGHT HALF OFFERS A PLACE TO FIND PEACE.
