During my Nan’s time in an aged care facility, I wasn’t able to visit as often as I would have liked. When I did get the opportunity to spend time with her, she struggled to remember what she had been up to and our conversations didn’t get far. It was only after her passing that I discovered photos of her dressed up for Melbourne Cup, enjoying day trips for fish and chips with friends and enjoying scones at afternoon tea.
