NEW STUDENT

ONBOARDING INFORMATION
Dear Fall 2023 JMP Admitted Students,
Congratulations on accepting your offer of admission to the UC Berkeley-UCSF Joint Medical Program!

We look forward to having you join our cohort for Fall 2023. The email below contains important onboarding information including the August 1st immunization completion deadline date. Please read the details below on how to have a smooth on-boarding process. If you encounter any issues, please contact your program manager, Deanine Johnson.
Before you can officially start with us, there are a few steps to complete:
Step 1a: Commit to Enroll
Be sure to accept your admission in the UC Berkeley Admissions Portal if you haven’t already and as soon as possible This action allows the system to recognize you as you move through the next steps
Step 1b: Create a CalNet ID
To create your CalNet ID, go to https://calnet.berkeley.edu/activate/student/
You will need to provide your Student Identification (SID) number which you will receive upon submitting your Commit to Enroll. We suggest using your first and last name when creating your ID. If you do not receive your Student Identification number, please contact gradadm@berkeley.edu.
After you create your CalNet ID and Passphrase, please log in to https://calcentral.berkeley.edu/ using your CalNet ID and Passphrase.
Note: Your SID may take up to three days to be recognized in our system. If you are having problems creating a CalNet ID, please wait and try again. If it has been more than three days since accepting your offer of admission and you are still experiencing issues, contact us.
Step 2: Create a berkeley.edu Email
Beginning on June 1, all future program-related communications will be conducted through your Berkeley email address, which is fire-walled to protect student confidentiality and program-related information, so be sure to establish one as soon as possible. Confirm that you’ve set up your new Berkeley.edu email HERE.
To create your Berkeley email address, please go to http://bconnected.berkeley.edu/ On the right hand side under "Getting Started", click on "Create accounts and lists”.
Note: You will need your CalNet ID and Passphrase. The bConnected home-page provides help desk contact information. Should you encounter any technical difficulties, please contact the help desk directly
Step 3*: Submit Your Official Transcript with Degree Conferral
Until the Graduate Division receives your official transcript(s), you will not be recognized as an admitted student. If you were still in your undergraduate program at the time you applied, you will need to submit an updated transcript showing your final degree conferral and confer date
For students with a bachelors degree from a United States Institution E-transcripts are preferred and can be sent directly to gradadm@berkeley.edu by the issuing school.

For all other students, please have the official academic record/transcript mailed in a sealed envelope bearing the institution's stamp or seal to:
The Graduate Admissions Office
318 Sproul Hall #5900
University of California, Berkeley Berkeley, CA 94720-5900
Note: We will be unable to enroll you in classes until we receive all official documents.
Step 4: Submit your Bio & Photo by this Friday May 26th!!
Use the JMP New Student Bio & Photo Request Form to upload a photo of yourself and a brief bio Sample bios from current students are available in the form We’d love to introduce the new cohort by June 1 so your timely contribution is greatly appreciated!
Step 5: Immunizations - Due August 1, 2023
This is likely the most crucial task after committing to enroll Use the required immunizations checklist found in the Second Look Packet folder and complete each task as soon as possible This has historically been the task that takes the most time so please be sure to get startedyou will be unable to begin classes without having completed all of your immunizations If you have any questions, please contact the JMP Health Education Coordinator, Camille Ayanuroh.
