Alla luce delle trasformazioni in atto nella città di Milano, la mostra - promossa dal Politecnico di Milano, co-promossa dalla Fondazione Riccardo Catella e curata da Alessandra Coppa - ripercorre la storia dei grattacieli milanesi. Una storia lunga un secolo, che parte con la prima proposta di un “grattanuvole” presentata nel 1910 da Achille Manfredini per concludersi con il progetto di Porta Nuova. Una storia che attraversa l’architettura moderna a Milano e che si nutre dell’immaginario che questa ha saputo suscitare: dalle mitografie futuriste di Antonio Sant’Elia ai virtuosismi tecnologici di Cesar Pelli. In response to the current pace of development in Milan, this exhibition – sponsored by Politecnico di Milano and cosponsored by Fondazione Catella, curated by Alessandra Coppa - tells the history of Milan’s skyscrapers. Covering the whole century from the first proposal for the project “grattanuvole” by Achille Manfredini in 1910 to a new high rise deveopment in the Porta Nuova district. A history of modern Milanese architecture from the imagination of Sant’Elia to that of Cesar Pelli. AFFINITÀ ELETTIVE Molteni&C e Salvatore Ferragamo rinnovano il loro sodalizio e presentano “Affinità Elettive”, un’installazione a cura di Rodolfo Dordoni. Protagonisti gli arredi della collezione Gio Ponti, prodotti da Molteni&C su disegni originali custoditi nei Gio Ponti Archives, accompagnati da riproduzioni di documenti originali del celebre maestro del ‘900, e dai disegni provenienti dal Museo Salvatore Ferragamo. Molteni&C and Salvatore Ferragamo renovate their partnership and introduce “Affinità Elettive”, an installation cured by Rodolfo Dordoni. Furniture of the Gio Ponti collection is protagonist, together with products by Molteni&C designed following original drawings of the Gio Ponti Archives, accompanied by documents reproductions of the well-known master of the last century and by drawings from the Salvatore Ferragamo Museum.

Ambrosiana è una collezione nata dall’incontro di tre designer legate alla città di Milano: Cristina Celestino, Serena Confalonieri, Elena Salmistraro.Le metodologie progettuali usate sono diverse: dalla citazione formale, all’ uso di materiali consolidati nella storia della città, dallo stravolgimento di forme comuni attraverso attribuzioni di nuove funzioni, alle suggestioni di una fredda mattina nebbiosa. Ambrosiana is a collection created thanks to the collaboration of three designers emotionally bonded to the city of Milano: Cristina Celestino, Serena Confalonieri, Elena Salmistraro.The design processes we used are various: from the quotations of styles to the use of traditional materials, from the distortion of common shapes through the assignment of new functions to the image of a cold and foggy morning.

Partner della manifestazione: DDN. Antique Mirror is well-known all over the world for its special mirrors and glasses, which find space in prestigious interior design furniture. From the meeting with the designer a unique application of the material arose, used in furniture pieces and objects. ARCADIA BY MARCO POLETTI & TOP 11 Il progetto avrà schierate due squadre: Arcadia con le sue aziende e Top11 con i suoi valori. L’esposizione riprenderà idealmente un campo di calcio reinterpretato con gli arredi di Arcadia creando un ambiente sportivo e fashion al tempo stesso. Lo scopo è quello di dare una chance a giovani talenti di diverse nazioni e culture, nati in condizioni poco favorevoli, e di mettere lo sport al servizio dell’umanità. The project will have two teams: Arcadia with its companies and Top11 with its values. The exhibition will recall a soccer field reinterpreted using Arcadia furniture which creates a sportive and fashion environment. The goal is giving a chance to young talents coming from different Countries, born in adverse conditions, and to put sport at the service of humanity.

Un progetto di Luca Trazzi e a cura di Beatrice Mosca, duecento orologi a cucù a forma di Duomo, prodotti dall’azienda Diamantini&Domeniconi e realizzati ad hoc nei tanti materiali che compongono la Cattedrale batteranno all’unisono. L’installazione, che oltre alla mostra comprende un itinerario open air di cucù Duomo di grandi dimensioni culminerà con un’asta benefica a sostegno del progetto "Adotta una guglia". A project by Luca Trazzi cured by Beatrice Mosca, two hundred cuckoo clocks in the shape of the Duomo will strike in unison, produced by Diamantini&Domeniconi and ad hoc, symbol of the creativity of Made in Italy. The installation, which apart from the exhibit involves an open air course made of cuckoos of great dimensions will be concluded by a charity auction in favor of the “Adotta una guglia” project.

La mostra "Suggestioni" è un percorso espositivo e narrativo inedito che invita il visitatore a immedesimarsi in sette contesti diversi ma armonici tra loro. Arte e design si confondono e le opere e gli oggetti esposti giocano ora ruoli da protagonisti, ora ruoli secondari, ma coerenti con la struttura della narrazione in cui sono inseriti: la mostra con le sue suggestioni abitative. “Suggestioni” exhibit is a unique course which invites the visitor to empathize with seven different harmonious contests. The exhibit introduces the pictures realized during the workshop of Design Training and Product Development to artisans coming from disadvantaged realities such as Thailand, Kenya and Philippines.
