The IB Mission
The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end, the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

PrimaryYearsProgramme (PYP)Curriculum
PYP students receive student-centered and standards-based instruction in all core areas, second language (Spanish), and special areas (may include art, music, technology, STEM, and more).
All PYP schools feature a transdisciplinary Programme of Inquiry (PoI). The PoI consists of learning units incorporating two or more subject areas and exploring themes of international impact.

Transdisciplinary themes- Students explore concepts and ideas that connect them to the real world.

International mindednessUnderstanding, respecting, and valuing different cultures. This helps students embrace diversity and understand that despite our differences, we can understand one another.
The IB Primary Years Programme is a studentcentered framework for inquiry-based elementary education. The PYP provides a balanced programme of education designed to address the intellectual, social, emotional and physical well-being of students. The PYP prepares students to become life-long learners and successful students through inquiry and conceptbased education emphasizing the connections between subjects and real-life applications..
Action and agency- From PreK- 5th grade, students are taught to put their learning into action and understand that they have agency to do so.
Exhibition- All PYP 5th graders prepare and present an exhibition showcasing a way that they have put their learning into action.
