Design 5 Semester Project

First 4 weeks - Group Research with (Ashley Anderson, Sophia Macri, and Mikhaila Wagner) Design Development - Solo

Due to the Conditions of North Philadelphia being carcentric, and limited on quality food, Organizations like Caring for Friends (Food kitchen/distribution center) look to provide for the community that may not have transportation or money for healthy fresh food.

Goals to accomplish with this building were to: - Provide a central location for NE Philadelphia members to acquire food, whether it be in person or delivered to their door - Bring community members together to socialize over food - Allow the residents in the housing section to fully recover from malnuriishment

The detailed plan shows structural grid lines that look to span over the dining section, supported by the exposed trusses. This form of exposure is a node to the exposure Caring for Friends is trying to accomplish with food.

Design 4 - Peace Santuary in East Fairmount

In this semester as a whole, exploration of physical experience and contoured land together allowed us to learn about building integration. The procession that leads up to the peace sanctuary also allows the user to get in the frame of mind needed for ultimate peace

The Site plan and Walking sections look to communicate to one another by demonstrating the two different paths you can take to find your peace The higher elevation path takes you to the altar, in which the table for peace resides The lower elevation path secludes one within the forest. This form of peace is less around conversation and more focused on within

A strong emphasis on the process in which we come up with our ideas was shown in D5. This process board demonstrates the thoughts behind form changes, program configuration, and organization of buildings as a whole.

This semester of vis taught us Rhino and Lumion at once, giving us the tools and kmowledge to render a project in and out. The cabin competition seen our whole grade level produce a board exploring a small cabin, testing our ability to use drawings and imagery to simplify the understanding of the cabin.

In high school, i worked at a pet shop in Newark DE called Pet Kare.

During my time there, the oppourtunity to expand to the adjacent property came upon us.

Considering my early knowledge of CAD from drafting class, my boss tasked me to design the interior.

That started with a quick survey by measuring, and the layout was worked on alongside my boss to ensure client satisfaction.
