On behalf of the Illinois 8-Man Football Association I would like to welcome you to the 6 th I8FA State Championship Game. We are honored to be playing at April Zorn Memorial Stadium on the beautiful campus of Monmouth College.
We want to thank the Monmouth College Athletic Administration Mr. Roger Haynes Director of Athletics, Head Football Coach Mr. Chad Braun, Sports Information Director Mr. Nathan Balivia for their support and for giving the I8FA Championship a great site to celebrate our 6 th State Championship.
I also want to thank all the I8FA member schools for their support in getting the association started and having the vision to save their football programs by going to 8-man football. Playing 8-man football has allowed all of us to keep our programs alive and give our kids a chance to play in a more competitive situation. It also affords us the opportunity to develop our younger players in a safer environment. It has been a great move for our schools and I believe it will be a great move for many more small schools in the state that want to continue to provide football and “Friday Night Lights” for their communities.
In the past seven years we have gone from an association of six teams to over thirty and continue to grow. I am proud to say that 8-Man Football in the State of Illinois is here to stay!!! Congratulations to both the Amboy Clippers and Milledgeville Missiles on their great seasons and Good Luck in tonight’s Championship Game!!
Thank you for coming out tonight and being part of Illinois Football History.
Enjoy the Game!!

I8FA RULES DIFFERENCES
For the most part, the 8-Man game follows the same rules as 11-Man football. Here are the few exceptions:
1. You play with 2 less lineman and 1 less skill player
2. Only 5 men are required to be on the line of scrimmage to start an offensive play
3. All jersey numbers are eligible and can play any position. That’s right! Your QB may be #57 and your center may go out for a pass if he is the last man on the line of scrimmage
4. You must have 4 players on the front line of a kickoff return
5. You may have no more than 4 players to one side of the kicker on a kickoff
6. While the field is still the same length, it is just 40 yards wide.
