PHOTOGRAPHY CLASSES INTERMEDIATE FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHY – Irene Hill Take the next step in your journey to become a more creative photographer. Learn to see as an artist sees. Develop a better sense of light, shadow, shape, and form. Go beyond the basics and begin to compile and edit a body of work. You will learn how to use the camera more creatively while developing a personal aesthetic. This course concentrates on being able to see and isolate subject matter from the environment. Texture, line and space will become part of your photographic lexicon. Study with a group of aspiring students in a class devoted to your growth and development as a creative fine art photographer. Bring your camera and printed samples of your work to the first class. ADVANCED FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHY – Irene Hill Ready to explore and expand your photographic skills by drawing from not only established principles of design but from new and imaginative ways to think ‘out of the box’? Open yourself to unlimited creativity and visual interpretation by developing the technical ability to create high-level artistic images. Through instruction and weekly assignments, students will also learn to articulate how and why subjects were chosen and identify the specific elements of design that contribute to their composition. PHOTOGRAPHY SALON – Irene Hill FOR UPPER LEVEL STUDENTS This class is designed for creative, experienced photographers who want to elevate their photography to a higher, more nuanced artistic level. The Photography Salon will emphasize imagination and the artful expression of creativity and will include classic as well as conceptual photography. Discussion and critique, along with weekly assignments, will be emphasized as learning tools to create better images. There will be an emphasis on breaking out of your comfort zone and exploring new photographic visions. Students will prepare a body of work throughout the term. Lee Gordon is a compelling presence in his classroom…lavish with praise for work that deserves praise and gentle with his critical eye on work that can get better. His approach is lively, interactive, encouraging and challenging, always with the goal of helping us create a better photograph. There’s an electric nature to the process that brings energy and a strong sense of camaraderie among his students, many of whom are internationally recognized for their art.
