In the ancient Greece, when the drama plots became too complicated to be solved by itself, they used what is called a deus ex machina. The whole situation were solved by a man playing a god (deus), brought into the scene by a crane (machina). This character was meant to solve the entire situation.
The research realized in this project tries to find a new architectural typology in the legal background of the Cádiz Bay Natural Reserve. This complex ecosystem is meant to disappear under the water, so the productive landscape needs to be upgraded to this new situation.
Salis ex machina is meant to be this external actor, playing an unexpected role that could fix the drama, while the whole park disappears. A machine able to regenerate, optimize and take profit from the landscape, while investigate possible solutions for the global problem.
