“With

the switch to co-ed in 2025 and the school’s 300th anniversary in 2026, it’s going to be a fabulously busy and exciting few years for this Salisbury gem. It’s a warm and kind place where pupils achieve high standards without really realising how it has happened. This is a culture that fully supports young people, and the move to co-ed will see boys benefitting from Godolphin’s honest and consistent care and attention in the same way that girls have for nearly three centuries”

VALUES

Pastoral CARE

Guided by our core values, we provide a structured, nurturing environment where young people feel secure, valued, and empowered to thrive. Pastoral care is at the heart of everything we do, ensuring that every pupil receives the guidance and encouragement they need to flourish both academically and personally

Our comprehensive tutor system offers consistent, personalised support, helping pupils navigate academic challenges, manage their workload, and build self-confidence. In addition, a dedicated network including Heads of Year, House Matrons, Nurses, Counsellors, and House Staff ensures that every pupil has someone to turn to for advice, reassurance, and encouragement.

A Supportive Environment for All

Space to thrive: Our sports pitches, netball and tennis courts, and green spaces where pupils can relax and socialise. Dedicated areas for informal games, such as a football ‘kick around’ space, help pupils to stay active and burn off energy and foster camaraderie among both boys and girls.

Balanced screen time: We encourage healthy digital habits. Younger boarders have limited evening screen time, while older pupils follow structured routines that promote wellbeing and positive social interactions. In Godolphin Sixth, our ‘no hear, no see’ mobile phone policy during the school day ensures meaningful, face-to-face connections.

Care for others and value yourself. Understand the value of diversity and offer help where you can

Be confident in yourself. Always be honest, loyal and trustworthy Trust yourself, and never let fear stop you trying. Find opportunities, understand the risks and ensure your ideas lead to positive actions

BE COURAGEOUS BE KIND BE AUTHENTIC

Experienced pastoral and boarding teams bring significant expertise in co-educational settings. To ensure the comfort, privacy, and safety of boarders, our facilities are being thoughtfully adapted – boys and girls will have dedicated sleeping quarters, along with separate bathrooms and locker rooms. These designated spaces provide privacy while fostering a supportive and inclusive community.

Welcoming boarding spaces: Our boarding facilities are being carefully adapted to create a comfortable, home-from-home environment for both boys and girls. New communal areas will provide shared social spaces, including recreational facilities such as a dartboard, pool table, and Xbox.

Understanding different needs: We recognise that boys and girls face different challenges at different stages of their development. Our staff receive ongoing training to provide tailored support, fostering an inclusive environment where all pupils feel heard, respected, and empowered to grow.

Within this thriving co-educational community, pupils are encouraged to embrace new opportunities, grow in character, and make the most of everything school life has to offer

Our boarding houses provide a true home-from-home environment where camaraderie flourishes and every pupil is supported by dedicated house staff. The integration of both boys and girls into each boarding house creates a diverse and harmonious community, where young people learn to live, work and grow together with mutual respect and understanding.

Daily routines are thoughtfully designed to provide structure and balance. Shared mealtimes bring the house together, creating a sense of family while ensuring pupils enjoy healthy, nutritious and well-balanced meals. Evenings offer opportunities for relaxation and connection, with activities ranging from movie nights and games to quiet downtime for reading or personal reflection. In this co-educational setting, pupils develop strong interpersonal skills, communication and confidence – preparing them for life beyond school.

to outdoor pursuits help broaden horizons and create lasting memories.

Godolphin’s boarding provision is carefully tailored to meet the needs of different age groups, ensuring that pupils have the right balance of independence and support. Flexible boarding options - including one, three, five, or seven-night stays, as well as weekend packages - allow families to customise arrangements to suit their needs.

Each boarding house is led by a dedicated House Parent, supported by a team of experienced staff who support a happy and inclusive community for all pupils. At the start of the academic year our Welcome Weekend helps pupils settle in, build friendships and feel at home.

Our vibrant co-educational boarding programme ensures a rich and fulfilling experience beyond the classroom, helping pupils build lifelong friendships, develop mutual respect, and grow in confidence.
