“Having escaped from the war and its concentration camp, Guled and his friends find comfort in Lincoln Square, among the chaos of the outside world. Guled usually spends a lot of time around the exchange area of the square because he enjoys the company of people and his friends. At other times, he can be found sitting on a concrete wall atop one of the terrain, as he sketches the view of the people and the terrain. Despite presenting himself as cheerful and bubbly, Guled struggles with schizophrenia and post-traumatic stress. Sometimes, he sees things in black and white, confusing himself between the reality and his perception of things. Distortion of planes, the cracking in concrete walls, and lifeless vegetations are among the few things that he sees when he is alone. The dystopian dream follows Guled, no matter where he goes because it is all in his head.”
