WHAT WE DID

THE MAPLES

Liverpool

The scheme comprised the transformation of a disused brownfield site into high quality housing and supported living for some of Knowsley’s elderly and vulnerable people. Situated on Westhead Avenue in Kirkby, The Maples offers 100 one and two bed Extra Care apartments with around the clock support to meet resident’s individual needs.

The site also features 16 supported

housing units as well as 54 homes for affordable rent and Rent to Buy. Each home benefits from a communal sensory garden as well as an on-site bistro and hairdressers.

Davies Partnership were engaged to develop employers requirements to a fully coordinated RIBA Stage 5 package of information. Sustainability services were provided which included Non-domestic Part L Dynamic Simulation Modelling and SAP / EPC calculations.

HARPERS GREEN Warrington

The Harpers Green Retirement development is a four-storey extra care development for over 55s. This provides a mix of one and two-bedroom apartments for affordable rent and shared ownership. On-site facilities include a hair salon, bowling green and bistro.

Davies Partnership were appointed by Anwyl Construction to undertake full MEP design duties including Part L and SAP modelling services. This included a high level of design coordination using REVIT MEP 3D software.

MEP featured a community heating system with high efficiency gas fired condensing boilers serving heat interface units. Sprinklers were provided to the apartments and high-risk areas with a CHP system installed to help reduce overall building carbon emissions.

PENTRE CANOL Denbigh

Pentre Canol is an Extra Care facility in Denbigh totalling 71 apartments complete with specialist dementia care facilities.

Appointed by AJ Field Group, Davies Partnership undertook the MEP design duties which involved close collaboration with the wider design team using a common data environment approach. The project proudly achieved a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating.

A community condensing gas-fired heating system was installed serving heat interface units in each apartment. A private electricity network was designed enabling tenants to benefit from a 300m² integrated roof photovoltaic array as part of the Clients drive towards eliminating fuel poverty.

LLYS RADDINGTON

Completed in 2018, Llys Raddington is a 73 apartment Extra Care development comprising 43 one-bedroom and 30 two-bedroom apartments, 15 of which are dedicated to Dementia Care.

Davies Partnership supplied MEP design services with 3D REVIT MEP used for coordination hotspots. The project features a 100m² solar photovoltaic array and community heating system with high efficiency gas fired boilers and heat interface units. A low carbon VRF Air Source heat pump system was installed within communal areas and the building is sprinkler protected.

WHAT THEY SAID

We have known the Davies Partnership team for some time and have always had a good experience working with them either as a client’s consultant or as part of a contractor design team. Technix engaged Davies Partnership to undertake the full MEP design for this impressive LMH development due to their extensive experience in designing extra care projects and their impressive portfolio. We found the service to be proactive and professional whilst offering added value to the project by providing effective solutions in a timely manner. We would have no hesitation in appointing Davies Partnership on future projects.

Davies Partnership are part of the Anwyl supply chain and have delivered the MEP design on a number of our projects. One of the projects recently completed by Davies Partnership was a 97 apartment Extra Care Facility at Harpers Green in Warrington for our client Torus.

We have found Davies Partnership to be pro-active, highly professional and focussed towards a collaborative team approach to ensure that the designs were completed to the highest level of quality Anwyl would expect of its supply chain partners. Both Dylan Morris and Tim White have been a valuable asset to the design team and we would have no hesitation in recommending Davies Partnership to others.
