WHAT WE DID

This new build primary school facility provides fourteen classrooms, ALN (additional learning needs) classrooms, hall, and staff/administration areas.

Davies Partnership carried out the full MEP design working in close collaboration with the Architect and Structural engineer to ensure a highly coordinated design and trouble-free installation of the BIM Level 2 project. An MEP Clerk of

Works role was carried out during the construction phase with our Sustainability team leading on low carbon design and preparing the Part L compliance models which seen the project awarded BREEAM ‘Excellent’.

MEP highlights include mixed mode natural and mechanical ventilation to classrooms and high efficiency gas fired condensing boilers. The project won the ‘Digital Construction Award’ at the CE Wales Awards 2022.

COLEG CAMBRIA DEESIDE Deeside

The project involved the renovation of the existing Entrance Hub, Food Hall, and Café at the Coleg Cambria Deeside Campus.

Working in close collaboration with the rest of the design team to ensure a quick turnaround for the client in time for the return of students, Davies Partnership were appointed to provide the full MEP design for the project.

Mechanical works involved above ground drainage, domestic services, LTHW heating, mechanical ventilation, and air conditioning.

Electrical systems associated with the project included low voltage distribution, electronic access control, general lighting, and CCTV.

The project was part of a multimillion pound modernisation process to enhance the school which involved the new build of the state-of-the-art school to replace the previous one.

Davies Partnership were appointed to provide the full MEP design services for the scheme which comprised the supply, delivery, installation, and testing and commissioning of the complete mechanical and electrical installations. This included hot and cold water services, LPHW heating, heat pump installation, general lighting installations, security alarm, and access control equipment.

The school was awarded ‘Best New Build in Wrexham’ by the Wrexham Civic Society at an awards ceremony shortly after completion.

14

KINGS JUNIOR SCHOOL Chester

The new build project was constructed during the same time the new infant school was on site and was a full design appointment.

HELSBY HIGH SCHOOL Chester

This project comprised the construction of a new two storey extension to Helsby High School with an estimated value of £3.2m.

We provided the full mechanical and electrical design for the scheme which was completed and successfully handed over in 2009.

ALEXANDRA SCHOOL Wrexham

Our services included a full MEP design package for the School extension including Building Regulations Part L (Wales) compliance.

WHAT THEY SAID

TACP architects have worked with Davies Partnership over a number of years and more recently on the new Agile Working Hubs for Coleg Cambria at Wrexham and Deeside. These schemes required close collaboration between the design team to ensure both projects were delivered successfully, and Davies Partnership were instrumental in this process. Where possible we would continue to recommend Davies Partnership to any prospective clients.

We worked with Davies Partnership on the Hafod Y Wern new primary school project in Wrexham. This was procured by Wrexham County Borough Council as a D&B scheme and throughout the design process and works on site we had an excellent working relationship with the M&E engineers working on the project. The design was a great collaborative experience, and we would be happy to work with them again. We have no hesitation in recommending Davies Partnership.
