COLABORACIÓN REVISTA PICNIC EDICIÓN SEP. 2015 PICNIC magazine is one of the main mediums of massive diffusion for the arts in Mexico. They publish a number each two months featuring the most fresh and latests tendencies in art, design, architecture and literature.

I had the honor to appear openly for the first time in one of the most important magazines for the diffusion for the September 15’ printed edition.

The main theme was color Black and it features a cover illustrated by French Artist McBess.

My participation was with 5 illustrations.

COOLHUNTER MX 6TH ANNIVERSARY I was invited to participate with some illustrations for Coolhuntermx magazine. They meant to be part of a special kit that is given to the magazine’s collaborators.

Fuimos & Seremos was the theme on this beautiful gifts which art was directed by FUIMOS and all together came to the actual kits.

CLARA PORSET ILLUSTRATED TRIBUTE I was invited to participate to Encuadre’s show De la Profundidad Del Asiento (of seat’s depth). We were given two objects and we had to make a piece based on each of those objects. My two objects were Clara Porset’s chairs. The “Butaque” and a chair from a set of furniture for rural families. The show was hosted at Centro Sur in Guadalajara.

The pieces are still showing, so if your’e in town, go and have lunch there! (the food is delicious)

BE GOOD A piece i did as 2015 started for a very good friend. Featuring a tlacuache skull. "Tlacuache" is the common name used for the one of the only native mexican marsupials.

PASEO DE LA CATRINA 2015 Paseo de la Catrina is an independent project that comes up under the need of transmit the experience of the mexican tradition of the Day of the Dead. Presented fot the first time in 2012, it takes place in Guadalajara, MĂŠxico inside a Multidisciplinary Arts Festival that lasts 4 days including more than 200 artists.

Workshops, allegoric parties and a traditional Catrina parade walk parting from the emblematic LARVA building, near downtown.

MATRAZ CAFE I did this mural painting as a comission for Matraz coffe shop located in Guadalajara, Mex. The wall was tottally white but it had some furniture in the middle that pushed me to compose the piece as shown.

Matraz coffee shop is known for working close with its coffee dealers as well as being close to each one of theri clients. Promoting a clean and green way of living, they can deliver your coffee to your front door riding a bicycle.

LA TEQUILA COCINA MEXICANA Work commissioned directly by the owners of the restaurant. The place was building a new interior identity and was leaving behind the “pueblo” looking to have a more fresh and modern feeling, but keeping a traditional mexican environment.

Reducing their color palette to achieve an uniform look, they asked me to make a traditional engravement painting, but “bigger”.

This is the result.

Taking as a reference ancient engravement artwork from José Guadalupe Posada and Gabriel V. Gahona, i focused in that rudimental and rough lines and contrasts to really achieve that looking.

The food is exquisite BTW.
