Today, my aura was satiated in a veil of melancholy. I was saddened by thoughts about the plethora of misinformation, prevarications, and unsubstantiated conspiracies overshadowing our communities. TV and radio advertisements outright lie or vastly exaggerate how they can ameliorate our lifestyles. Daily, the world receives a plethora of telephone calls or Internet messages suggesting that certain companies or individuals have the capabilities and resources to eliminate debt; adjust ways to significantly reduce or eliminate IRS obligations; secure people ideal jobs; too good/too quick/too true ways to make money; and allegedly helpful ways to reduce mortgage payments. In reality, these claims are either exaggerated or falsified. Even the automobile industry makes promises that are vastly exaggerated or they throw people limited carrots that becomes unavailable or has hidden attachments when you actually investigate the advertisements. There are multiple examples of wide-spread dishonesty within our societies. Twenty-first century people are duped by their churches, employers, social media, governments, and businesses. Incidentally, the duping of humanity is not new. It has been going on ever since Cain slew Abel, and Cain asked the question, â€œâ€ŚAm I my brother's keeper (Gen 4:9)?â€?
