Snead Construction / CAS Riegler Companies, Project Manager, November 2013 – July 2019 • Led the on-site operations and project teams during construction, working both as a project manager and field superintendent as needed. Directly handled all preconstruction estimating and purchasing efforts, as well as the project budgets and accounting. Responsible for all project management operations including RFI’s and submittals, document control, change orders and field coordination and scheduling. Worked closely with my development/ownership colleagues and assisted in permitting, AHJ approvals and design team management during all phases. Oversaw close-out, building turnover, and warranties, along with technical building maintenance for the Ownership company’s property portfolio. Obtained the company’s Virginia State Contractor’s license (RBC) as the qualified representative. Clark Construction Group LLC, Rotational Engineer, April 2011 – October 2013 • Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture; September 2012 – October 2013. Gained exposure to on-site, large-scale project management. Spearheaded procurement of more than 50 subcontracts totaling over $200MM while managing unique small business requirements. Lead the project’s accounting efforts and handled the payment requisition processes with subcontractors and the Smithsonian. • Preconstruction Services Department; August 2011 – September 2012. Pursued acquisition of work in the Mid-Atlantic and Western regions, bidding over 2.75 billion dollars in commercial construction. Focused on generating subcontractor involvement, coordinating scopes-of-work between trades, performing quantity takeoffs, and estimating trade costs. Concurrently involved in the early-design budgeting process with Owners. Learned the fundamentals of construction acquisitions from bid through award, such as subcontractor evaluation, scope-of-work creation, contract formulation, and negotiation techniques. • Contracts Management Group; April 2011 – August 2011. Reviewed all the organization’s subcontracts and bonds from the Mid-Atlantic region. Responsible for ensuring agreements were correctly and punctually executed after contract award and resolved any issues that arose during the execution process. Fore Group Inc, Assistant Project Manager, May – Aug 2007, May – Aug 2008, May 2010 – April 2011 • Scheduled and managed an array of contractors to construct multimillion-dollar suburban homes. Obtained quotes and built budgets to ensure project profitability. Gained hands-on experience in the field surrounding jobsite logistics, trade coordination and construction fundamentals.
