Symphony Of Walls: CHICAGO, ILLINOIS Systems
Presented today is a brief showcase of my work from five years at Virginia Tech’s School of Architecture, Arts, and Design (formerly the College of Architecture and Urban Studies).
While I’d love to say these projects could be built tomorrow or that they define me as a designer yesterday, the reality is that my perspective on the built environment is constantly evolving— shaped by experiences, mentors, and newfound skills. This serves as a reminder, both to myself and to those who engage with my work, that adaptability is critical to how we engage with architecture and I have learned listening is a gateway to its success.
I welcome your engagement of my work. I would love to talk about how certain things can contribute to your real world scenarios.

System of ACTIVATORS
This thesis establishes montage as a network for interpreting moments in architecture through superimposition . Complex systems of order are juxtaposed with movement to understand how human exploration can aid through design.
The project explores a knowledge network through three types of data repositories : an archive, a library, and a workshop. These vary in complexity and composition furthering their character in a larger scheme of superimposition that mirrors the cognitive process of learning and discovery

Wall are used to: -define areas of use -provide places to sit -guide pedestrians -reveal their scale
The missing middle housing creates ambiguity through blurring front and back entrances for continuity of residents exiting to the street or semi-public plaza

Timber spans the landscape at eight main points ; comparable to the relentless eight legged questers.
The Room + Garden takes from experiential qualities of the site . The origin story of a table and chair begins east with a storm drain where one hovers over an edge .
A geared track system blurs the inside + the outside through a blooming motion

Material Study TIMBER
Renwick, Iowa 1 week
Farm buildings are understood as purposeful structures, they are removed when their need expires. A 1-week material study of timber pondered the questions of tilt wall construction, mortise and tendon joinery and shelter for three friends of limited heavy equipment in Iowa.
