DON’T BE AFRAID!

I’m writing this at the end of only the first quarter of 2025. We’re facing a world which is turning upside down. Everything we thought was right is wrong, and what we thought was wrong is right. Incredible, disturbing changes are taking place. BUT ‘let not your heart be troubled!’ What a challenge!
Relationships between America, Britain and the whole of Europe are changing, politically and prophetically. As I prophesied 25 years ago in my film ‘The Rape of Europe’, Europe is clearly the fractured (iron and clay) feet of Daniel’s image, and Europe is being ‘raped’ by Islam.
Ukraine is in a difficult situation, not being part of idolatrous Europe which will be destroyed by Jesus when He returns, and desperately not part of Russia which is likely to spearhead the final attack on Israel!
It’s so important to get back to what Jesus said. Those words, “Let not your hearts be troubled” – these were the words of Jesus – to us – at the end of His ministry. It was the feast of Passover. And Jesus – John 13:1 – knowing that His Hour was come that He would depart from this world to the Father begins to speak to His disciples powerfully. He says, “NOW is the judgment of this world!” John 12:31. He said clearly: two thousand years ago, the judgment of the world began! And, He adds, “The prince of this world WILL be cast out!” When Jesus is talking about ‘the prince of this world’ He’s talking about Satan.
Jesus says, in John 14:30, “Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world comes – and has nothing in Me.” The devil has no hold over Him! This is such a strong statement! No hold over Jesus – and for those of us ‘in’ Jesus, the devil has no power over us!
Satan tried! Let’s go back to Matthew 4. Immediately after Jesus was baptised by John in the Jordan and received the Holy Spirit, He went out into the wilderness and fasted for 40 days. At the end of the fasting, Satan comes to Him to tempt Him, to get a hold over Him. He tempts Jesus to turn stone into bread, saying, “You’re hungry, you haven’t eaten for 40 days – turn these stones into bread!” Jesus rebukes him, “Man shall not live by bread alone but by every Word that proceeds from the Mouth of God.” Then Satan takes Him to the highest point of the Temple and says, “If You throw Yourself down here, what will happen? Angels will come and pick You up!” I find it incredible, not only Jesus
quotes Scripture, but when the devil tempts Him – he quotes Scripture too! I sometimes think the devil knows Scripture better than many Christians! Then Satan takes Jesus up a high mountain and shows Him all the kingdoms of this world –but I’ll talk about this later.
So in John 12:31, Jesus says, “Now is the judgment of this world. Now the prince of this world – Satan – will be cast out.” But, though Jesus had done so many miracles in front of the people, they still didn’t believe in Him; vv38-41, ‘that the saying of the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled, “Lord, who has believed our report, and to whom has the Arm of the Lord been revealed?” Therefore they could not believe because Isaiah also said, “He has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts, that they should not see with their eyes nor understand with their heart and be converted and I would heal them.” These things Isaiah said when he saw the Glory of God and spoke of Him.’
Jesus is saying, the prince of this world has blinded the eyes of the people so that they cannot see and cannot believe, although what they were seeing WAS the physical manifestation of the Son of God, confirmed by the miracles He did! Yes, they SAW the miracles, they SAW the Power. But Jesus knew, it was Satan who had blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts so that they could not believe and be converted. Can you see the impact that Satan, the prince of this world has on people?!
Scripture says ALL have sinned and come short of the Glory of God. If you go back to the beginning, the first sin was disobedience against God’s Word when He said you shall not eat of the forbidden fruit. It’s the same today. God gave 10 simple commandments, so that IF you obey the commandments, you can find a place in His Kingdom. But this is humanly impossible, the Bible says, ‘all have sinned’. And although Jesus came to offer a free salvation, Satan has blinded us, so few accept this way of escape.
In John 12:42-43, we see the religious leaders threaten the people with being thrown out of the synagogue if they dare to follow Jesus, and the people, intimidated, loved or preferred the praise of men more than the praise of God… But Jesus cried out, “He who believes on Me believes not on Me, but on Him who sent Me! He who sees Me, sees Him that sent Me.” Jesus was God, He’s part of the Godhead. “He who has seen Me, has seen the Father, he has seen God.” But the people feared those who ruled over them more than they feared God.
So, we come back to John 13, where Jesus, knowing His Hour has come, loved His own, and knowing that He was about to be betrayed, knowing He had come from God and was going back to God, He stood up and, as a servant, prepared to wash the disciples’ feet.
And so, we come again to Chapter 14, where Jesus said, “Let not your heart be troubled. You believe in God – believe in Me!” And then talking about Heaven, He goes on to say, “In My Father’s House are many mansions. If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for YOU!” Jesus is forever talking about the Kingdom. When He was tempted by the devil, the devil took Him up a high mountain saying, “You see all the kingdoms of this world and all their glory? If You will bow down and worship me, I’ll give it all to You!” Jesus did not rebuke the devil and say, “You don’t have those to give” – because He recognised, the devil IS the prince of this world.
But Jesus said. “What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, but loses his own soul?”
When you look at some of the sin and the terrible things being committed at this very moment in time, it’s almost as if people are selling their soul to the devil! Today the devil is saying, “Look, if you will serve me, I will give you the kingdoms of this world with their power and all their resources.” People are literally selling their souls – like Putin, like Hitler, like others before them – people great and small literally sell their souls in order to gain a world, but end in hell!
But Jesus has promised to those who serve Him, “I go to My Father to prepare a place for YOU, and if I go, I will come back and receive you to Myself, THAT WHERE I AM, YOU MAY BE ALSO.” Not hell, but Heaven! The Bible is clear that your final destination is decided by your decisions down here. There is no time in ‘purgatory!’
When Jesus was tempted by the devil with the kingdoms of this world in Matthew 4, what I saw really touches me, because it is from this time on that Jesus begins to teach about HIS Kingdom, His Coming Kingdom. Matthew 4:17…
I’m intrigued: when the devil tempted Jesus with the kingdoms of this world, he was in control of them then and still is. This explains what’s going on in our world where what we thought was right is wrong, and what we thought was wrong is right. He won’t finally be defeated until Jesus comes back. THIS is why Jesus
talked more about His Coming Kingdom than about anything else.
As I read the Scriptures and especially the New Testament, I’m amazed to find that the most important message is the Coming Kingdom. This is not a kingdom ruled over by Satan and those who have sold their souls to him, but a Kingdom ruled and controlled by Jesus Himself. And when He comes, Satan will be bound for 1000 years, in hell!
When Jesus lived on earth, He had Power to rebuke Satan, because He came to destroy ‘the works of the Evil One’. And those of us who KNOW Jesus are delivered from Satan’s power –NOW! I don’t live under his power! I live under the Power of God! When you come to Christ, you no longer live under the power of Satan, you live in the Power of Jesus Christ, in the Power of the Kingdom of God. We are no longer ‘of this world’. We belong to God’s Kingdom NOW. And though the kingdoms of this world do not yet belong to our Christ, when He comes back, it will be to destroy Satan and to take back control of the world.
Look into the Book of Ephesians, 2:1ff, where Paul is saying, “He – Christ – has made YOU alive who were dead in your sin!” As far as God’s Kingdom is concerned, we are now ‘dead to sin’! But He has raised us, who believe in Him, from death into Eternal Life! But Paul reminds us, before this, “you walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now works on the children of disobedience.”
Jesus spoke of the ‘prince of this world’, but Paul here adds another dimension,
calling Satan ‘the prince of the power of the air’. In another message I will deal with this, how the devil is controlling the power of the air. Is this connected with today’s internet, the worldwide web? Anywhere in the world, we’ve got access to this, it has no barriers, it’s ‘in the air’ – if you’ve got an internet connection you just pick it up. I use it. It’s very useful for so many reasons. Yet more and more, it’s also being used to destroy people: children who get hold of the internet from an early age can become so corrupted by what they see and by what the algorithms lead them into. Some are being led to commit suicide, some are radicalised. Unfortunately, Paul is right in speaking of Satan as ‘the prince of the power of the air’, and his evil spirit works in those who are disobedient to Christ. Those who reject Christ are so vulnerable, so subject to the works of the devil. But those of us who truly KNOW Jesus and accept Him, ARE delivered from ALL the power of the devil – though we also must search our hearts and resist the devil.
Paul prays for Christians here in Ephesians 1:18-19 – that “the eyes of your understanding may be enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of Christ’s calling and the riches of the Glory of His Inheritance in the saints, that you will know what is the EXCEEDING GREATNESS OF HIS POWER in us who believe!” The Bible says, to him who believes NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE! NOTHING. This is what Jesus said to Peter, when the fig tree He cursed died, and Peter asks why, how did this happen? Jesus doesn’t explain it, except to say: “Peter, we’re standing on the Mount of Olives. But if you command this mountain to be cast down into the Dead Sea below – if you believe with your heart that you will have what you
say – it will happen!”
There is NO LIMIT to the Power of God. My new autobiography is called ‘THE UNEXPLORED POWER OF GOD’. I want to challenge you to explore the Power of God – I want you to see how much Power God has – to see the EXCEEDING GREATNESS OF HIS POWER to us who believe! And God demonstrated the greatness of His Mighty Power – in Christ –when He raised Him from the dead! Ephesians 1:20. It’s an incredible miracle!
We can experience this Resurrection Power in our OWN lives. We NEED this salvation – salvation from the power of the prince of this world, who was bold enough even to tempt Jesus, in the same way that he came to Adam and Eve and tempted them to doubt God and His Word: “Has God said you must not eat of the fruit of this tree?” Satan was encouraging Adam and Eve to doubt. One of the biggest problems with Christians today is doubting God’s Word, doubting the Power and the Ability of God. Don’t doubt the Power of God. There is no limit to His Power.
I resist the power of the prince of this world and also those who have responded to him and have sold their souls to the devil for a promise of kingdoms in this world, of conquest and victory. Father, break that curse, break that power, deliver men and women, set them free NOW. I’m thinking of Ukraine, O God, set that nation free, drive out the enemy. I believe You have promised, and O God You will fulfil that promise.
Let not your heart be troubled! Today in this troubled world, if you believe in Him, don’t let your heart be troubled. He will give the Victory. God bless you!
Not many people can celebrate 75 years in ministry as I am this year – especially not many can keep as busy as I am – I’ve got a busier programme this year than ever!
I want to share something with you from the Book of Numbers – it’s very heavily marked in my Bible, and I believe it’s extremely important. This was a very great period of miracles, in fact the Children of Israel saw more miracles under Moses than later under Elijah and Elisha. It was Moses who led Israel out of captivity in Egypt. He spent 40 years of his life doing this one job! I wouldn’t have liked to be in Moses’ shoes!!!
By Numbers 13, the Children of Israel have come out of Egypt and are on their way to the Promised Land. But there were problems. The journey should have taken 40 days, even with their families and all their cattle. It was a massive migration of about 2 million people in all! As they approached Canaan, the Promised Land, the Lord spoke to Moses saying, “Send men to search the land which I will give the Children of Israel. From the 12 tribes, send a ruler.” As leaders of the 12 tribes, these men represented the whole of Israel. And Moses directs them to climb a mountain from where they can see the land, and then to go in, check the people who live there: are they strong or weak, few or many, what kind of land is it, is it good or bad, what cities have they got, do they dwell in tents or in strongholds… Basically, the spies were told to make a very thorough investigation.
Numbers 13:21ff tells exactly where the spies went. It was harvest time. In Eshcol they cut down a bunch of grapes so great, they had to carry it between 2 poles. After 40 days – it was a detailed search, and remember, they were on foot, or perhaps with donkeys – they returned. This was their report to the whole congregation of Israel, v27ff: “The land is exactly as promised, it flows with milk and honey – they showed the fruits of the land – it’s good! But the people living there are very powerful, their cities are walled and very great, and the children of Anak, who are giants, live there!!!”
At this point, v30, Caleb speaks very strongly – to Moses and all the people: “Let us go up at once and possess it,
in v31, ten of the spies brought an evil report of the land they had searched: “It devours its inhabitants, and it’s got giants! We’re not able to go up against these people, for they are stronger than we are. We were as grasshoppers in our own sight, and in theirs.”
Caleb, supported by Joshua, insists, “We can go up and take the land!” But the other ten men say, “No, it’s impossible, the task is too big, we can’t do it.” And the whole congregation wailed – all night! And they turned against Moses saying, “It would have been better for us to have died in Egypt or the wilderness! Why have we been brought here to this land only to fall by the sword? It’s better to go back to Egypt!”
We all know the outcome – and it’s so sad – the children of Israel did not enter the land, but had to wait a full 40 years from this point until they could finally enter, after all the doubters had died! It is so significant that none of the doubters entered the Promised Land!
I liken the Children of Israel to Christians and to the Church. When Moses led the Israelites through the Red Sea to freedom this, to us, is a symbol of the Blood of Christ. We’ve come through His Blood, delivered from sin into salvation. BUT, we then have to travel throughout our lives before we finally enter into God’s Heavenly Kingdom – the Kingdom Jesus talked about so much. For the Israelites, the final crossing into Canaan was through the Jordan. For us this symbolises when we die and enter into the Kingdom.
What disturbs me is that, because of their lack of faith, the Children of Israel could not enter the Land for 40 years! The Israelites saw all the miracles in Egypt, the ten plagues, the death of the firstborn in Egypt – but they had escaped, they’d lived through the miracle of the crossing of the Red Sea – that was a POWERFUL miracle! The Red Sea where they crossed was not shallow – it was deep enough that it drowned the whole Egyptian army! The Children of Israel had witnessed all of this just weeks before, and yet now ten of their leaders are saying –despite all those miracles in Egypt which were still so fresh in their memory – we cannot go into this land, the people are strong and live in fortifies cities, we’re not able to defeat them! I’m shocked at their unbelief. And so they had to wait 40 years to enter into the Promise God had given them!

All those years ago, aged 29, I was determined to attend that big Conference that was to be held, for the first time in 2000 years, in Jerusalem, on the Day of Pentecost, in the Upper Room. I was a young evangelist with a wife and 2 children and no support! I didn’t have the money to buy an air ticket. So I determined to go by car. This was in post-war Europe. Everyone said I couldn’t do it, it was impossible. Even my own father until 3 weeks before I left was praying for 2 years that God would stop me! He thought I would die on the way! I don’t know what my poor wife thought, I didn’t discuss it with her…
That one journey was to change the whole of my life. It opened up the door that God needed for me, because, if you are British and do something incredibly stupid, you end up on television! I was the first person to pioneer that overland trip to the Holy Land behind the Iron Curtain, through the communist countries and through Arab nations hostile to newly founded Israel! As a result of the publicity, so many people wanted to go, I ended up with a travel company! And this became the means by which, for all those years until I was arrested in 1972, I was able to smuggle Bibles, 2 tonnes at a time, into the communist lands, beginning a ministry that has lasted for 60 years! Out of my 75 years in ministry, 60 years have been spent working in the former communist Soviet Union where atheism was enforced. All because, by faith, I did something impossible! AND I received that ‘greater blessing’ that I so sought after in 1961!
I’ve had to live like this all my life – doing the impossible! After I came out of the prison I continued to work in the East, and I saw that there was a need for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit, that believers behind the Iron Curtain needed to have what I had received! So in 1986 I determined to set up an East-West Conference uniting East and West. At that time, we still had the Cold War and that ‘Iron Curtain’ still separated us from all the countries in Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union. Literally it was a barrier. We wouldn’t get permission for such a Holy Ghost Conference in the East, and it would need a great miracle for people from the east to come into West Germany. But in 1961 I had broken that barrier! The whole of my life has been based on breaking barriers and doing the impossible! That’s where the blessing has come in my life – simply by doing the impossible!
So when in the 1980s I got this vision of seeing revival – revival that I had experienced personally – flowing behind the Iron Curtain, it was impossible! When I shared my vision with Church leaders, particularly in Germany, they laughed at me. They said it’s impossible, how can you bring people from the East into Western Germany for a conference – and in any case, who are you?! You’re no one, you’re on your own, you can’t do it –we’re the only ones who could do it! But they never had the vision, and they never did it. But I did! It took me 2 years to plan, but the miracle is that in 1988, I brought 4000 people together from East and West to my East-West Conference in Germany. The whole purpose was to prophesy the breaking of the Iron Curtain by the Power of the Holy Spirit, and that the Holy Spirit’s Fire would bring revival to all the Soviet Union countries and would sweep from East to West across Europe. In 1988, it happened. I did what was impossible. Then I held a second East-West Conference in 1989 and within weeks, the Iron Curtain separating East and West Europe began to break!
In 1990, when Bulgaria was still under Soviet control, I was preaching in Yambol and I got the vision, we’ve got to get out of the church building, we’ve got to take the stadium and preach the Gospel in the open. Everybody laughed at me, you can’t, the stadium belongs to the Communist Party. I went to the directors of the stadium, they laughed at
me, you can’t! But I would not take NO for an answer. I simply prayed, “O God, change these men’s minds!” I saw the moment in their eyes when God changed their minds and they said, “We’re communists, we can’t rent you the stadium, but there’s nothing to stop us giving it to you for FREE!”
I held a third East-West Conference in 1991, and the day after it finished, the stronghold over the Soviet Union itself crumbled, there was a coup, the Soviet leader was out and by December that year all 15 member states became independent countries.
The whole of my life has been based on the fact that nothing is impossible – if you go by faith!
Joshua and Caleb were so upset with the Israelites, and said in Numbers 14:8ff, “Look, it’s an exceeding good land. If the Lord delights in us, He will bring us into this land and give us the victory! Don’t rebel against the Lord! Don’t be afraid of the enemy! They’re like bread for us, their defence is gone, and the Lord is with us!” At this, the whole congregation made to stone Joshua and Caleb, but the Glory of the Lord appeared before all the Children of Israel, and God said to Moses, “How long will these people provoke Me? How long will it be before they believe Me because of all the things I have already shown them? How long will they resist Me and provoke Me when they
have already seen the miracles I did to bring them out of Egypt?”
God is upset with the Church when the Church doesn’t see, doesn’t know the unlimited Power He has! My whole life has been to search out the unexplored Power of God to do the impossible. Read my autobiography! Listen to me – my whole life is based on the fact that our God is a God of miracles, NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE. We HAVE to go by faith!
God was angry with the people for their unbelief, and said to Moses, “How long must I put up with these people? I will give the blessing to you.” But Moses argued, v15, “If You destroy Your people, the Egyptians – who saw the miracles You did in Egypt for the Israelites – will hear and say that You didn’t have the Power to fulfil Your Promise and bring them into the Promised Land!”
Moses pleaded with God, “Pardon, I beseech You, the iniquity of this people according to the greatness of Your Mercy, as You have forgiven them from Egypt until now”, the Lord replied, “I have pardoned… and as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the Glory of the Lord.” WE must enter into THIS Promise – by faith!
I want the world to see the Glory of the Lord fill the earth and to experience His Power! If only we would believe what God says, He will fulfil every Promise. Live by faith!

David spent Easter this year in Kazakhstan, ministering twice a day, taking the opportunity, in this secular country, to evangelise with Kazakh pastors and leaders. (Kazakhstan is divided between Russians and the original Kazakh people who are traditionally moslem.) He spent time encouraging and motivating 80 Kazakh leaders, who came together from all over Almaty region, to receive faith from a man – David – who turned 93 on the day he arrived and is celebrating 75 years in ministry this year, a man who had the courage to work for 30 years under the persecutions of the communist Soviet Union, and for more than 30 years since, in the unravelling chaos of the 15 newly independent states. And never grows tired in ministry!!!
Kazakhstan, after Russia itself, is the second largest of the 15 independent states formerly part of Imperial/Soviet Russia. Additionally, it is part of wider Central Asia
which, historically, was part of the Babylonian and succeeding ancient World Empires. Jews have lived here since Daniel’s Babylonian Exile, hence, when Thomas, one of the Twelve, began his missionary work here in the early years after the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, the internationally understood languages spoken were Aramaic as well as Greek, which facilitated the free preaching of the Gospel.
The Kazakh leaders are sensing a new unity in the Holy Spirit amongst themselves and the urgency to bring in a great harvest of souls from amongst their peoples. Like Elijah, they see a ‘cloud the size of a man’s hand’ – a heavy rain of the Holy Spirit is coming. You only have to be in a meeting with them to sense the simplicity, vibrancy and strength of their faith in Christ. David will be back this year to continue the ministry and to evangelise. Kazakh people receive the Gospel with open hearts and experience God’s Power in instant healing miracles with much rejoicing.

On the Saturday night, David laid hands on all 1000 people and with a brief prayer many were instantly healed. A crippled man walked without sticks, blind eyes opened, lame limbs were healed…
ing healings, so that one family tells another what Isa, our Jesus, has done for them. In our 3 days with these 1000 Adjarians this May, there was such a strong sense that the Lord Himself was with us, no longer walking alone, but now with many Adjarian people following.
At the beginning of May we brought 1000 Adjarian Georgians together in an hotel ballroom in Batumi for 3 days and David preached Jesus to them – the Jesus whom the Koran calls ‘Isa Messih’, Jesus Messiah – but who is alive today in power! Rarely have we experienced His actual Presence in our midst as we did in this large Conference Centre. When David prayed for the sick many miracles happened – which is the evidence to these Moslems that the Isa of the Koran is the Jesus of the Bible who is alive today –as only He can work these miracles! We are working with a missionary church of Moslem converts, Adjarians who all came to Christ through powerful miracles of healing or deliverance from drugs and alcohol. In a vision 17 years ago, Pastor Elguja saw Jesus walking alone towards the Adjara mountains and Turkey. Elguja asked, “Why are You alone? Why is no one with you?” Jesus answered, “Where I am going is wild, hard and difficult – no one wants to come with Me.” Pained that no one dared risk all to go into these closed Moslem communities and bring the Gospel to them, Elguja replied, “Jesus, I'll go with You!”
From that time, he and his church have worked patiently to win the trust and friendship of their own Adjarian people group, bringing aid packages to the mountain villages, running summer camps for the kids, praying with the sick and see-
So many miracles happened, it was just like the old days in the 1990s when revival broke out in the newly liberated Soviet Union countries. God has not changed –His Power fell on Georgia in these meetings. We will be back next year and the numbers will multiply!
After this we spent two days in the capital city, Tbilisi. The first day was in prayer with leaders representing all South Caucasus –Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan – countries on the geopolitical/spiritual divide between Europe and Islam – and also Turkey. The second day was a full day of prayer for Georgia itself together with the Evangelical and Pentecostal churches. Georgia is in a state of serious unrest, the country divided between pro-Russia and pro-Europe factions. The focus of the prayer was peace in Georgia and peace in the whole of South Caucasus – and above all for a revival of faith in Jesus Christ.

needy people in by bus. This area is mainly catholic and local churches are small, so my message was the Power of the simple Gospel. I said, “The Jesus in the Bible works miracles today. Only God can forgive sin, break the curse and heal your sickness. He wants to give you a new life – you will never die, you will live with Jesus for ever – and to prove the truth of the Gospel, just as Jesus preached it, He will work miracles now.”
Our organisers reported: ‘A total of 21 fellowships –small congregations – took part. Eleven buses came from the outlying regions to Polsat Plus Arena in Gdynia: three filled with children from orphanages, two with people from shelters for the homeless and drug addicts, and one with people from a psychological clinic – missionaries are working in all these centres – and the remaining five buses were organised directly by churches. Two buses came from Zambrów, where a small church gathered nearly 100
the miracles that happened! A young woman, visually-impaired, effectively blind, came forward in tears – God had opened her eyes! Movement was restored to a man’s broken hand, an old woman gave away her crutch and so it continued – there was an uproar of excitement, since no one had really expected any such great miracles to happen!’
non-believers, and one from Wolsztyn with almost 50 unbelievers – three of these were healed in the meeting but only shared their testimonies on the bus on the way home – and next day 20 new people attended a barbecue organised by this church! The highest proportion of people who came were the younger generation! Packages with a Bible, decision card and the contact details of all the participating churches were distributed to all who responded when David made the appeal for salvation.’
A TREMENDOUS CHALLENGE
Great Siberian campaign as an intercessor and scribe. The Soviet Union had just collapsed – it was chaos. Just to survive out there we had to live by miracles every day, not counting the amazing healing miracles that happened in every single meeting. It was like living in the pages of the New Testament, so far beyond my wildest imagination that I had to re-read the Gospels as we travelled just to understand what I was seeing.
When we came back, three things: FIRST. I wondered, could I ever live by faith like this again? I’ve believed in God from childhood, but the Lord gave me Hebrews 11, it’s not enough to believe that God IS, you MUST believe that He REWARDS those who earnestly seek Him. He answers prayer! And in Siberia I saw God’s love for the broken, and that He shows His Great Power in order to show His Great Love. SECOND. I co-wrote David’s book, ‘Why Siberia?’ He wrote up all the adventures, and I wrote up his preaching and the healings – I had kept a record of everything I had personally witnessed.
THIRD. Together we launched Prophetic Vision magazine, because, as David wrote in the first edition, ‘It’s like looking down on a map, I see the devil’s strategy, and I see God’s strategy, what He wants to do – this is a tremendous challenge TO ACT!’
In just a couple of lightning months at the beginning of this year I completed the mammoth task of editing David’s autobiography – 93 adventurous, prophetic years. He spent ALL last year writing different stories and incidents, ‘as the Spirit moved him’. He was loving it, but I dreaded what was to come… And in January, he announced, “Katie, I think we must consider the book to be finished now. Can you edit it in time for my 75th Anniversary events?” From raw edit to print in time for the first event in May!!! Not an easy task!!!
I was faced with a total HAYSTACK, at least an inspirational haystack, but you
only God had given the prophets a good editor… No, but the prophets could only peer into the future… It would be thrilling if we could read it in order!!!
But this was now MY job to put David’s inspirational haystack in order. Luke could write the Acts of the Apostles ONLY BECAUSE he travelled everywhere with Paul, and he could write his Gospel (and the early chapters of Acts) ONLY BECAUSE he personally met with those who were first-hand witnesses of the life of Jesus and the first outpouring of the Holy Spirit. For the last 31 years I have travelled everywhere with David and his team as his ‘Luke’. And in these 31 years I have met many first-hand witnesses of the previous 30 years.
David was obviously, by character, never an ordinary child. And with roots back to the Welsh Revival through his father, he was born into a unique period of history that’s still unfolding, with a fearless love of adventure, a driving hunger to experience everything that’s in THE BOOK, to see the fulfilment of Prophecy, and to do the GREATER WORKS that Jesus said we would do – by the Power of the Holy Spirit. The first half of his story is a real-life Cold War thriller of smuggling Bibles – two tonnes at a time – behind the Iron Curtain, tracked wherever he went by spies, informers and the dreaded Russian KGB. Even sceptics and unbelievers would find it a jolly good read. If you don’t know this part of David’s life, read the book – and even if you think you know it, read the book! These were years of high adventure and active spiritual warfare and direct confrontation with the devil on a level unknown to anyone who intercedes at home or in a church building!
These years prepared the way prophetically for the collapse of communism, beginning in 1989 through to 1991, when the Iron Curtain, separating East and West Europe, fell – and the nations enslaved by Russia, some for decades and some for centuries, gained their
and the early 2000s marked an unprecedented explosion of evangelism –these suppressed countries had never in history witnessed such a thing as great as this. And I know, everywhere we go in the East, David is regarded as a living legend of faith.
As I completed my edit on one chapter in the book, I would give it to David to do a second edit – and it was at about this point in the 1990s that I asked David if he was shocked to realise he was part of such a ministry? And yes, he was shaken. You see, David says only your life will show how much you really trust God – and this book shows just that – how much David has trusted God with his life.
From about page 114, you will really have to take note, because, whilst Christians in the West were euphoric at the fall of the Iron Curtain, David prophesied – with complete accuracy as it turned out – the then unknown and hidden things that have grown into the evil that is wracking Ukraine with war today and threatens, not just Europe, but the world:
He prophesied, when the Berlin Wall fell in 1989, that we must work fast, that we had ONLY FOUR YEARS before a worse spirit would arise, by economic collapse, by military and spiritual might. Four years takes you from 1989 to 1993. 1993 came and went, so David must have been a false prophet, because all that could be seen with the natural eye was revival beginning, a greater move of God’s Power than had ever been seen in these lands before! But you must read the book, because it was precisely in 1993 – FOUR YEARS AFTER THE BERLIN WALL FELL – that David had a face-toface encounter with the spirit that has controlled Russia since the fearful days of Genghis Khan. It was this encounter that launched David’s magazine, ‘Prophetic Vision’. The spirit spoke and mocked David, “I am the spirit that was in Genghis Khan. I was in Lenin and in Stalin. People think I am dead, but I am alive, and I still control Russia.”

CHALLENGE TO ACT!
People should know that the KGB controlling Russia had ‘dissolved itself’ in 1991, apparently dead and gone. But precisely in 1993, when that evil spirit spoke to David, the KGB resurrected itself, ready for a certain Mr Putin to appear and combine for the first time the two roles of Controller of the KGB and President – Absolute Ruler – of Russia. Read the book. And here we are today with war in Ukraine…
BUT not only the devil spoke. In early 1994, as David was preaching one Sunday from Deuteronomy 4:32-36, God HIMSELF spoke, revealing HIS Plans:
‘I am about to work the greatest miracles ever seen on the face of the earth. I am about to take a nation from another nation, by TEMPTATIONS, by SIGNS, by WONDERS, and by WAR, by a MIGHTY HAND, and by a
STRETCHED-OUT ARM and by GREAT TERRORS – just as I did when I delivered Israel out of Egypt!’
THIS is what GOD is doing NOW.
As David wrote in the first edition of his magazine: ‘I see the devil’s strategy, and I see God’s strategy, what HE is about to do – this puts a tremendous responsibility on us TO ACT!’
THE IMPORTANCE OF JOHN 14:1-3
Over the last few years in these troubled times, I have read extensively, trying to understand both the present – and especially the past, when similar disturbing forces have broken out over our world.
These issues often present themselves to me in the night, or in my waking moments. One morning recently it was as if the Holy Spirit drew my attention to these words of Jesus, “Let not your heart be troubled. Trust in God, trust also in Me.” I had not thought about this since David preached on John 14 in a message, and which I have now transcribed for this magazine, p2-3, ‘DON’T BE AFRAID!”
Suddenly I understood, there is greater strength and purpose far beyond encouragement – these words contain a Power we will need in order to survive these present times.
Not only did Jesus tell His disciples not to be afraid but trust Him, He gave His disciples something to look forward to above all else – the Kingdom! “If you can resist fear, if you can trust Me – this is what you can look forward to – I go to prepare a place for you, and I will come back for you, so that where I am – with the Father in Heaven – you may be also!”
The first disciples would need these words to survive what was coming – and we may need this same Power also. Immediately after the Ascension and Outpouring of Holy Spirit, what happened? They went out, preached Christ and His Kingdom, and by Acts 4, Peter and John are arrested, brought before the authorities, intimidated and commanded not to do this anymore! By Acts 5 they’re again arrested and this time flogged. By Acts 6, Stephen, one of the seven deacons helping the Apostles, is taken and – for his strong witness – stoned to death, Paul approved. By Acts 9 a great persecution’s broken out in Jerusalem, and the believers are
scattered abroad, with Paul, breathing out murderous threats against them, is pursuing them to Damascus to bring them as prisoners to Jerusalem!
By Acts 12, King Herod has got himself involved in the persecution – I suppose because the message of the Apostles was of ‘another Kingdom’ greater than any earthly kingdom’ – and he has James, brother of John, one of the three closest disciples to the Lord, put to death by the sword. And since this pleases the religious leaders in Jerusalem, he seizes Peter also with a view to a quick, fake trial and execution.
It's not recorded in the New Testament, but according to tradition, all but one of Jesus’s eleven faithful disciples were martyred. Some were crucified, others beheaded, stabbed, flayed, or sawn in half. Only John is said to have died of old age. Countless believers in the early centuries preferred death, rather than to compromise their faith in Christ and in His Kingdom.
Leaving behind 19 centuries of martyrdom, I grew up knowing something of the Nazi oppression from the 1930s through to the end of the war in Europe; knowing of the Soviet oppression in East Europe from the end of that war until the freedom came in 1991; and knowing, that even if you compromise with evil, they will still get you anyway. When David was in a communist prison, he never betrayed anyone, though the pressure was there, and he never signed any paper admitting ‘guilt’ in exchange for ‘clemency’.
Under Hitler’s Nazi government, most German churches compromised. Their excuse: they HAD to, in order to survive. A German Christian movement was formed within the German evangelical Church and lasted from 1932 until 1945; it brought conformity with, and acceptance of, Nazi ideology, recognising Hitler’s headship of
the Church above Christ Himself, his unconditional authority over the whole nation, and the responsibility of the people to obey him. After the war it was everyone’s excuse: ‘we obeyed orders’. Hitler first publicly declared himself as ‘Christian’ in 1922, and until his death, self-identified as ‘Christian’. The majority of the Church publicly swallowed this lie.
However, 20th Century Christian martyr, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, two days after Hitler came to power on 30 January,1930, in a public radio address warned against the growing cult of Hitler: a man not appointed by God as Leader/Fuhrer, but a Verfuhrer – one who would lead the nation astray. His message was cut off before he could finish. Bonhoeffer joined with the Confessing Church, which comprised just 20% of the German Christian leadership. For Bonhoeffer, discipleship is costly, because it calls us to follow Christ, costly because it condemns sin, costly because grace justifies the sinner, and costly above all, because it cost the Son of God His Life. To satisfy one of the Fuhrer’s last rages before his suicide in 1945, Bonhoeffer’s faithfulness to Christ was to cost him his own life, without trial, without defence.
Putin, like Hitler, has self-identified as ‘Christian’. ALL confessions in Russia must publicly endorse him as God’s appointed leader of the Russian-speaking peoples and must support his invasion of Ukraine and all his criminal acts in this ‘special military operation’. We know only of a few who have had the courage of the Confessing Church in Nazi Germany to continue to speak the truth and to refuse to tell the lie. For this, their own church organisations and the Russian State punish them.
There is a grave danger that other developing ‘Christian’ autocracies are moving in this same direction.
There is something worth living for – far beyond a ‘trouble-free life’ and state protection with the benefits of salary, position and wealth. It’s the Kingdom of God!
I don't see ‘dying to self’ and 'giving up all for the sake of the Gospel' as a spiritual exercise. In the harshest of circumstances, it is a necessity, something that only those who radically trust their Lord can do.
Oh, but I will lose my job, my family will be affected... First the Kingdom, then all these things. Don't sell your birthright for a pot of lentils...
But how can I know I have understood the Gospel? Examine your heart! To religious people who know all the rules, Jesus simply said, “Love the Lord your God –AND your neighbour as yourself.” Do we? Now that's hard to answer. And would I have the courage to stand firm in Nazi Germany, in today’s Russia, or any other autocracy – as the early disciples did under Roman rule? Do we trust God enough to take up the ultimate test: ‘he who will lose his life for Christ’s sake, will save it’?!!
