TRANSPARENT REVOLUTION A RETROSPECTIVE SHOW OF FRZ FRZ stencil artist anonimo di Tabriz in Iran, approda per la sua prima personale in Europa. Lo staff di Memorie Urbane che per la prima volta è riuscito a strappare un visto al consolato italiano a Teheran ha portato l’artista nel 2016 a dipingere in Italia (sue opere sono visibili nelle strade di Gaeta, Valmontone, Roma, Napoli e Milano). La mostra antologica di FRZ raccoglie opere su tela, legno, plexiglass e carta che ripropongono i suoi lavori più famosi realizzati in Iran. Come manifesto della mostra il curatore ha scelto l’opera Chelisa: che vede Che Guevara a braccetto con la Monalisa di DaVinci , ma sono molte le opere che faranno riflettere sull’Iran e non solo, ed un occhio in particolare andrà sui lavori dell’artista che utilizzano le trasparenze del vetro e del plexiglass. L’artista non potrà essere presente alla mostra per le problematiche di terrorismo che impediscono agli iraniani di uscire dal loro paese ed avere un visto per una nazione occidentale, e oltretutto per una mostra che raccoglie opere illegali censurate nel suo paese. Per l’occasione abbiamo realizzato un video con lo staff di Memorie Urbane che sarà proiettato in galleria e che riprende la voce dell’artista, attraverso le sue opere e la società iraniana. Una società che oggi più che mai vive una crisi sociale interna molto forte.
FRZ anonymous stencil artist from Tabriz in Iran, arrives for his first solo show in Europe. The staff of Urban Memories who for the first time managed to tear up a visa at the Italian consulate in Teheran brought the artist in 2016 to paint in Italy (his works are visible in the streets of Gaeta, Valmontone, Rome, Naples and Milan) . The anthological exhibition of FRZ collects works on canvas, wood, plexiglass and paper that repropose his most famous works made in Iran. As a manifesto of the exhibition, the curator chose Chelisa: which sees Che Guevara in arm with DaVinci’s Monalisa, but there are many works that will reflect on Iran and beyond, and one eye in particular will go to the works of artist who use the transparencies of glass and plexiglass. The artist will not be present at the show for terrorism problems that prevent the Iranians from leaving their country and have a visa for a Western nation, and moreover for an exhibition that collects illegal works censored in his country. For the occasion, we made a video with the staff of Memorie Urbane that will be screened in the gallery and which incorporates the artist’s voice, through his works and the Iranian society. A society that today, more than ever, experiences a very strong internal social crisis.
