To every child who dares to dream, explore, and believe in magic.

In a tiny little town, not too far away, Lived a girl named Millie Muddles, so cheerful and full of play.

With sparkling eyes and golden-brown locks, She lived by the seaside, just behind the rocks.

One sunny morning, as Millie awoke, She searched for her glasses; it wasn’t a joke!

She shouted aloud, “Where could they be?

Oh dear, oh dear, I just can’t see!”

Millie dressed up in her favourite shirt and pants, She told her parents, “I’ve lost my glasses! I’m off to search distant lands!”

So off she went with a map in her hand, Ready to look all over the world so grand.

She waved at her family and skipped down the street, “Don’t worry, I’ll find them, I won’t accept defeat!”

She hopped on a bus in a terrible hurry, Bringing her teacup by mistake, because of the worry.

The bus turned left and right, left and right, Finally, the city was in her sight.

In London, where Big Ben chimed the hour, She met Larry, the lion, beside a tall, red tower.

“Oh noble lion, mighty and proud, Have you seen my glasses lost in the crowd?”

The lion shook his mane with a thoughtful glance, “Not here, dear Millie, perhaps try France.”

To Paris she went with a hopeful grin, The scent of croissants gently drawing her in.

She asked Rene, the proud rooster, who sang with delight, “Have you seen my glasses? I need them tonight.”

The rooster yawned beneath the Eiffel Tower, “I’ve been asleep for nearly an hour!”

Millie Muddles thanked him kindly and waved goodbye, Then flew to Africa, where the vast deserts lie.

Still hopeful, she flew to the wonders of Egypt, Where pyramids rise and golden sand drifts.

She asked Fadi, a bold falcon, the nation’s pride, Who swiftly soared off with wings open wide.

Through Cairo’s crowds, she peered and scanned, Past temples and statues, ancient and grand.

She climbed the steps of the Great Pyramid, She looked and looked but could not see where they hid.

Next came Pakistan’s beautiful land, Where cities stretch wide and tall mountains stand.

She asked Meena, the markhor, high up on a ledge, Who shook her head, nibbling shrubs by the edge.

Through Islamabad’s streets she wandered, quite sad, At Badshahi Mosque, she searched, but no luck to be had.

Millie Muddles knew she had to keep going, She peeked at her map to see where it was showing.

Not too far was India, bursting with light, Its streets so busy and colors so bright.

She met Tia, the tiger, who looked rather tough, “Oh, dear Millie,” she chuckled, “I can’t see past my ruff!”

Through Delhi she wandered, past India Gate, Fearing her glasses had sealed her fate.

But nowhere in India could she find her sight, So, she boarded a train, then a late-night flight.

Flying to China through clouds so high and free, She landed in Beijing, the capital city, full of sights to see.

She travelled across this vast country, filled with wonder and delight, A land of ancient history and culture shining bright.

On the way, she met Po, the panda, cuddly and tall, She asked him for help, but he didn’t know what to do at all.

She climbed the Great Wall of China, but they were not here, Millie Muddles was tired, but hopeful they must be somewhere near.

In bustling Japan, by Tokyo Tower’s light, She searched all day and into the night.

She looked around, both near and far, Yet couldn’t find her glasses in the busy bazaar.

A green pheasant called Piko, perched up high in a tree, Chirped, “I haven’t seen them, sorry from me!”

She smiled softly and nodded her head, “I must find my glasses before it’s time for bed.”

She hopped to Australia, the land down under, Where kangaroos leap, and skies roar with thunder.

She tiptoed through Canberra’s clean, bright streets, Yet her glasses were still somewhere in their secret retreat.

Rio, the red kangaroo, bounding so happy and free, Pointed her toward the Sydney Opera House by the sea.

Across the valleys, she raced with grace, Yet her glasses were nowhere in that place.

Then she dashed off to the mountains of Peru, Where skies shone bright and rivers ran blue.

Through Lima she wandered, both old and new, Listening to stories and legends too.

She told her tale to a kind llama called Lalo that she met, With soft tufts of fur and eyes that shone wet.

She climbed Machu Picchu, steady and meek, Yet her glasses still played hide-and-seek.

From Peru to Colombia, she then sailed to Jamaica, where sunshine glows, And laughter follows wherever it flows.

She danced in Kingston to rhythms sweet, Tapping her shoes to the sunlit beat.

She asked Dana, the doctor bird, green and red, “I wish I could help,” it hummed as it flew away over the Dunn’s River bed.

She hiked through hills where paths curve and run, But found not a clue, not even one!

Not too far was Mexico, lively and loud, Where dancers and music drew quite a crowd.

She danced through the square, her spirit so fair, Yet her precious glasses weren’t anywhere.

She asked Gala, the golden eagle, strong and wise, Who blinked her bright blue eyes and sighed.

At Chichén Itzá, a pyramid so tall, She looked high up, but there were no glasses at all.

At last, Millie Muddles felt that finding her glasses would get easier, As she crossed over to the amazing United States of America.

In New York City, that never sleeps, She met Beau, the bald eagle, in a mid-flight leap.

He shouted from the top of the Statue of Liberty, “No, not here, Millie, but you will find them, don’t you worry.”

She sighed but smiled; she still had hope, Even without her glasses, she’d cope.

So, Millie Muddles flew home with a huff and a groan, Back to her bedroom, at last, alone.

She flopped on her bed, her journey complete, Tired and dusty, yet smiling sweet.

“I searched every continent, both near and far, Asked creatures and climbed mountains that reached the stars.

From lions to llamas, through deserts and snow, But where my glasses went, I still don’t know.”

Just then, her mum walked in with a grin, “Now tell me, Millie, where have you been?”

Millie Muddles sat up and reached for her head…

Then blinked in surprise, “They’re here!” she said.

On top of her hair, perched crooked and round, Her missing old glasses had finally been found!

She laughed till she snorted and flopped with cheer, “I searched the whole world, and they were right here!”

Moral Sometimes the things we search for far and wide, Are really just waiting right by our side.
