FOR ARTCRAFT ATTENDANCE
Talk about an awesome year! We set sail with our beloved Sponsorship Party themed “The Love Boat.” As we pulled up the anchor, we were pleased with another successful journey that yielded many events including fieldtrips, Missoula Children’s Theatre, rentals, author events, Bingo, and Knit at Night and 81 different movie titles. All of this made it “The Best Year Ever” with 64,414 total patrons through the doors, which is a new record!
Franklin Heritage, Inc., was finally able to say goodbye to the scaffolding that surrounded the Artcraft. It enabled our brick masons and roofers to repair and tuckpoint the 102-year-old theatre, which had been badly damaged from the tornado on March 31, 2023.
FHI and Madison Street Salvage coordinated a fantastic Historic Home Tour that brought 990 tourgoers who saw several different styles and ages of magnificent houses. The Artcraft also hosted sellout author events that Wild Geese Book Store and the Johnson County Public Library choreographed.

A YEAR OF EXPANSION
THE
HISTORIC ARTCRAFT THEATRE
Tip-toeing back to normalcy the last three years following the pandemic, tornado damage, and stabilizing, The Artcraft Theatre was finally ready to expand our offerings.
This not only included a bar offering in the concession area, but adding two new regular events –Bingo and Knit at Night.
Bingo nights have proven to be very succesful with enough interest to schedule these as monthly events in 2025.
Knit at Night gathers knitters, crocheters, stitchers, and other crafters into a community setting to create and watch movies in a lightsup theatre.
Repairs from the storm damage that the theater experienced in spring of 2023 was finally completed in fall of 2024. Through grants provided by Franklin Development Corps and private donations, the repair project covered by insurance was expanded to include and complete maintenance tuckpointing on the building’s brickwork.

A YEAR OF CHANGE
MADISON STREET SALVAGE
The salvage team has completed another successful year! Noteworthy events resulted in many changes throughout the year.
Christine Hamilton completed her first year as the Director of Madison Street Salvage. Greg Armuth, fulltime store manager, joined the team in early 2024. The salvage team has expanded to 3 full time employees and 1 part-time employee.
Greg Potter shares creative visions that have taken the store displays to the next level. Greg also started teaching monthly painting classes with several repeat students.
Our store inventory has expanded to include vinyl albums. This section of the store is getting much
attention from customers of all of ages!
Our crew continued our mission of “Preservation First, Salvage Second” as we completed several salvage jobs throughout the year. The most interesting project led us to the Historic Central National Bank in Greencastle, Indiana where original doors, hardware, and trim were salvaged. This bank was robbed in 1933 by John Dillinger and his gang.
Greg Potter unloads trim fro a salvage job in Greencastle. Stacy of Schoolhouse Homestead shops for lights.

A YEAR OF REJUVENATION
FRANKLIN HERITAGE, INC.
Rejuvenation was the theme of Franklin Heritage for 2024. While working on the repairs from 2023 tornadoes, masons tuckpointed the majority of the Artcraft, ensuring its continued integrity for the next century of cinema goers.
Committed to education, not just advocating, staff led a hands-on workshop removing vinyl siding from clapboard homes and seminars on historic home styles and preservation basics. We continued collaborating with blogger Megan Elaine to bring preservation and maintenance tips to digital subscribers, spreading our mission to new audiences.
The bi-annual Home Tour, on hiatus since the 2020 Pandemic,
Megan Elaine
Sharing behind the scenes info to our digtial audiences on Thursdays.
returned with vigor bringing nearly 1,000 visitors to appreciate Franklin’s architecture and homes. Seeing downtown abuzz certainly rejuvenated our commitment to preserving the past for the future!
Our continued partnership with Discover Downtown Franklin continues to promote preservation policies and practices to commercial and residential areas.
