Avening WI
We are busy planning activities for the Autumn! Our next walk will be at the beginning of October starting in Preston Park and making our way to The Trouble House for their usual excellent lunch.
The August walk took place in Framptonon-Severn. The weather was dry until we encountered a torrential downpour - just as we were nearly back for our lunch at The Three Horseshoes. The dogs were already rather wet having had a cooling dip in the canal on the way… Our winning team in the heats of the Federation quiz will be taking parting in the final this Autumn and we hope they do well! Our ‘walking netball’ sessions with Kemble WI are great fun, and will be continuing. We play twice a month, alternating between Kemble and Avening. Our catering teams
have been busy over the summer with various functions in the village. It will be our birthday month in October, and we shall be running the Avening Community Café on Tuesday the 15th of October to showcase our WI. The Gloucester Federation will be celebrating their Centenary anniversary in October and three of our members will represent us at a service in the Cathedral on the twelfth. We are also planning a table display illustrating our activities at the Exhibition in the Cathedral, during the weekend. Shirley Hand, Avening WI
