Tetbury Community Fire Station We need you! Have you got what it takes? Hello! My name is David Smith and I am Watch Manager of Tetbury Community Fire Station, part of Gloucestershire Fire & Rescue Service. Over the last three years sadly we’ve lost seven firefighters from Tetbury fire station - some through reaching retirement age, some for personal reasons. We’ve managed to replace four firefighters but we’re keen to find people to fill the other three places.

or how many times a week for certain!) Full training is given and so is all the support and encouragement you could need to become fully competent and qualified. So if you are looking for a new challenge, want to make a difference and you’re willing to make a commitment, please call in on a Monday night and see me or one of my Crew Managers and we will answer your questions. More information available on the internet- www.glosfire.gov.uk At the moment there are ten of us at Tetbury fire Station; we are a close group and all enjoy looking after the community of Tetbury and the surrounding villages. We respond to all types of calls, road traffic collisions, chemical spills, animal rescues, medical emergencies (co-responding with the ambulance service) and even fires! We respond 24/7 365 days a year and can be called upon to support the rest of Gloucestershire and Wiltshire on larger incidents. Since 2013, when I took charge of Tetbury Fire Station, we have been presenting the Firefighter of the year award. FF Mike Houghton won it the first year, CM Sacha

Ward 2014 and FF Stephen Chidley last year. The trophy used to be a large chrome bell on a plaque, taken home by the winner for the year. However, this soon turned into a station joke as the winner had to try and find somewhere for it and also to keep it polished. Or more likely, their wife had to keep it polished! Last year however, we were highly honoured to receive a donation of money at the request of the late Mrs. Maureen Webber, from the proceeds of the collection at her funeral. We wanted to use this money to remember Mrs. Webber and to pay tribute to the hard work and dedication given by the Firefighters of Tetbury Station. We commissioned a new award in her name - The Maureen Webber Firefighter of the year award. A chromed firefighter’s axe mounted on an oak board, the winners name is engraved on a small plaque and mounted on a matching board. This is kept on station for all to see, and it will form part of Tetbury Fire Station history for years to come. Dave Smith, Tetbury Community Fire Station

I have used Howard Palmer to buy, sell and let properties for over 20 years. He is a true professional, experienced, a good communicator and cares for his clients. I have no hesitation in recommending him to those in the residential marketplace. Director, Edward Blake Ltd CHP Lettings, organised our tenancy with great professionalism and courtesy. Perhaps the best recommendation we could give is that we are now considering buying a property to let and would have no hestitation in asking CHP Lettings to manage it. Tenants CHP Lettings provided us with an admirably speedy service, with courtesy and consideration. We would not hesitate to recommend their agency. Tenants CHP Lettings offered a genuinely first class personal service with a sound knowledge of the property. His services were strides ahead of the competitors. He had an excellent rapport with the landlord and it was negotiated with kindness and discretion. Nothing was too much trouble and we are exceedingly grateful. He went beyond our expectation of a letting agent. Tenants
