THE GRIP OF WINTER

Developed by Davanti
Cold, rain, snow and ice can make winter driving wildly unpredictable. Reclaim the road with the Wintoura tyre range from Davanti Tyres.
Developed in the UK and proven deep within the Arctic Circle, Wintoura’s advanced silica compound and precision - engineered tread patterns deliver enhanced grip and braking in harsh alpine winter
Winter tyres have to meet the EU’s 3PMSF standard to legally be approved for use during winter months. This demanding certification process ensures that a winter-rated tyre can actually deliver the required handling, grip and braking performance required in snowy, icy and wet conditions.
Wintoura achieves this thanks to its silica compound, which retains grip and flexibility when temperatures fall below 7°C, where summer tyre compounds can become harder and lose traction.
Davanti Tyres’ Wintoura patterns are designed to optimise driver control in any vehicle, from city cars to sports cars and SUVs to commercial vans.
Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) certified, the Wintoura range; Wintoura, Wintoura+, Wintoura SUV and Wintoura Van, gives you confidence and control when you need it most.

The Wintoura is a directional high performance winter pattern, that provides safety, comfort and fuel efficiency.
Two wide circumferential grooves together with lateral channels and zig-zag sipes improve traction and lateral grip – dispersing water and increasing grip in icy and snowy conditions.
Angled tread block edges and varying pitch sizes help reduce noise emission.
Provides assured steering response in all conditions.
RIM PROTECTION
Added rim protection rib up to 60 series profiles. Discover more at davanti-tyres.com

ADVANCED WINTER PERFORMANCE
Added rim protection is applied to all Wintoura+ fitments
The Wintoura SUV tyre has a specially designed directional tread, providing reliable winter traction and snow performance.
Two main circumferential jagged grooves, lateral channels, and 3D sipes provide efficient clearing of water and extra grip on snow and ice.
Varying pitch sizes provide improved riding comfort and a quieter drive.
The interconnected v-groove centre rib provides assured steering response and high levels of traction.
Wintoura VAN has an optimised symmetric tread pattern designed for high traction and good braking performance, even in severe winter conditions.
Specially-designed three-dimensional sipes and lateral grooves deliver increased traction and excellent braking performance in alpine winter conditions.
Three main non-uniform circumferential grooves and solid-joined outer blocks provide efficient water dispersion and a precise steering response emission.
Robust carcass construction remains flexible and adaptive, designed for heavy loads and optimal performance in cold weather conditions.

UTAC specialises in providing testing, validation and engineering services within the automotive industry.
Located at Ivalo, Finland, UTAC’s proving grounds have a long outdoor testing season, making it the perfect location to put Davanti through its paces by providing consistent and repeatable test results.
Test 1: Ice Circles - The vehicle is lined up at the edge of the 50-metre diameter frozen road surface. A fixed amount of steering lock is applied and the vehicle accelerates until lateral grip begins to drift and the vehicle deviates from the intended path. This is repeated for several laps and the average score is taken to determine Wintoura’s lateral cornering grip.
Test 2: Ice Traction + Braking - This crucial assessment measures Wintoura’s ability to accelerate and stop safely on an icy surface. Traction is tested by measuring the time taken to accelerate to a predetermined speed on a carefully prepared and controlled straight line brushed ice track. The braking test measures the distance covered when slowing from this speed to a stop.
Test 3: Ice Snow Handling - UTAC’s demanding alpine circuit features tight hairpins, long straights, steep elevation changes and off-camber corners, far beyond the typical conditions encountered by most motorists. Wintoura is tested on repeated timed runs of this track, to ensure performance consistently and reliably exceeds the requirements of drivers on European winter roads.
Test 4: Ice Handling - The fast and flowing 1,300-metre ice circuit at Ivalo tests our Wintoura range to the absolute extremes. Its mix of tightening turns and hairpins are a significant challenge with all electronic driver aids off. The track is graded between runs and the average lap time determines the Wintoura range’s ice handling rating.
Test 5: Snow Hill Climb - An advanced traction test for any tyre, the snow hill climb test measures the distance taken to accelerate to a predetermined speed on a consistent incline in heavy snow. Test drivers utilise the same incline at UTAC for each Wintoura test to ensure consistency.
