BIG TUNA Big tuna is a boat inspired by the shapes and the colors of the yellowfin tuna. Its special feature is the two side fins (foils) which, at high speeds, allow the boat to glide over the water. The Big tuna’s engine is an electric waterjet. A turbine sucks in water from under the hull and throws it back through a hole in the back, creating propulsion.

Conponents and position The position of the rider is designed to create as little friction with the air as possible. The cockpit houses the rudder wheel, the throttle and a control dial. Behind the seat are the engine and the battery, which is contained by a compartment that can also be used as storage. The drift is movable.

Waterjet engine This engine is able to draw water from under the hull through two inlets. The engine then pushes the same water back from the rear of the boat. The movement of the water creates propulsion that moves the boat forward. The speed of the boat depends on the speed at which the water makes its way.
