Our second annual Sustainable Practices, a series of white papers by Dattner’s Sustainable Practice Group (SPG), is now live. This paper explores the compatibility of Passive House and large, urban, affordable housing projects. Starting with our first Passive House project, 425 Grand Concourse, to reviewing the impact of upcoming code changes, we explore lessons learned and how we continue to innovate to provide high quality, healthy, affordable housing. The topics include findings from our own work and research done by sustainability consultants we often work with and demonstrates that Passive House affordable housing provides cost savings as well as improved health outcomes for residents.
