Combining our collective career experience as well as inspiration and knowledge gained on our global travels, we created a brand based on honesty, integrity and simply great design that inspires others to live well.

Taking inspiration from the worlds of fashion, different cultures and our African roots, we are committed to offering our customers handmade treasures that are lovingly created by talented artisans. Each item is representative of the hard work and skills developed over generations; woven with ounces of culture and years of heritage.

We are proud of the platform we have created for the artisans that we support and are committed to continuing to grow organically whilst remaining socially and environmentally responsible.

DASSIE SYMBOLS |

To guide informed and inspired conscious consumerism, we have created the Dassie Symbols to enable our customers to learn and understand the humble beginnings of each of our unique products. All of our products have a story to tell and we want to share them with you.

Made predominantly by women.

Crafted using traditional mouth blown glass making techniques.

Pure. Produced from raw materials derived from living matter.

Created and directed in a cooperative structure, with proceeds reinvested into the community to enable self-sustainability and economic development.

Made under fair wages and in fair working conditions, supporting the development of working communities all over the world and adhering to the principles of fair trade.

Made from organic or bio-based fibres using organic processes throughout every step of textile production. This process avoids the use of harmful bleaches, dyes, and finishes.

Made using mango wood.

Mango trees can grow to between 20-30 metres high, but as the tree approaches this size, they become more difficult to harvest and

eventually stop bearing fruit completely. On mango plantations, before the trees reach this size, they are replaced with young mango trees and the harvested wood becomes an additional source of income for mango farmers. The tree is cut and replanted every 7-15 years, continuing a sustainable cycle that ensures there is no harm to the environment.

MEET THE MAKER | PUSHPA DEVI “I am very shy but I love working with my family�

Pushpa learned her skills when she married into the business. She was taught to loom by her inlaws who welcomed her into the business when they welcomed her into the family five years ago.

Outside of work, Pushpa spends a lot of her time cooking up veggie delights with pulses and ghee for the family as well as running around after her two little ones, aged 3 and 5. She enjoys playing ball with them and occasionally practices yoga and meditation when all the ladies get together for community festivals.

Due to the handmade nature of our creations, each item is truly unique and no two will ever be identical. Any imperfections should be celebrated as a testament to the hard work of our talented artisans. We believe this adds to their beauty and charm.

STOCK LEVEL

Due to the handmade nature of our products this can, at times, mean items are temporarily out of stock. As part of adhering to fair trade principles, we allow our suppliers long lead times to ensure our artisans are working in fair conditions and to realistic timelines. If an item is out of stock, we will let you know and give you an expected delivery date which can, on occasion, change due to factors out of our control. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. All available products currently out of stock have a 6 week backorder time.

BACKORDERS

All orders will be invoiced for in stock items, with delivery free of charge (UK only). Items not available will be placed on a backorder and once the items are back in stock we will invoice you. If you are an account customer, we will send the items out to you as soon as the stock arrives, unless it is 10 weeks after order.

RETURNS POLICY

If you would like to return any item to us you must do so within 30 days of receiving your goods. The items must be securely packaged in their original condition to ensure they arrive back to us safely.

Unless the item is faulty, or pre- agreed with a member of Customer Services all returns must be at your expense.

Please highlight the items you are returning on your original goods out note and include this in your parcel.

Once we have received your package back we will process your refund or replacement within 14 days.

BESTELINFORMATIE MINIMUM ORDER

Voor de eerste bestelling bedraagt de minimale orderwaarde €950,- (exclusief BTW). Voor nabestellingen houden wij geen minimaal orderbedrag aan.

HANDMADE

Als gevolg van het handgemaakte karakter, is elk item uniek gemaakt en zullen geen twee artikelen identiek zijn. Wij geloven dus ook niet in onvolkomenheden, maar zien dat als een uniek bewijs en ontwikkeling van het talent van de ambachtslieden waar wij mee samenwerken. Dit draagt bij aan de schoonheid en charme van onze producten

Voorraad

Als gevolg van het handgemaakte karakter van onze producten kan dit soms betekenen dat items tijdelijk niet op voorraad zijn. Wij onderschrijven de principes van eerlijke handel in reële omstandigheden en in realistische tijdlijnen. Als een product niet op voorraad is, zullen wij u dit laten weten en geven wij een verwachte leverdatum aan. Behalve indien er factoren spelen die buiten onze invloedsfeer liggen. Onze excuses voor het eventuele ongemak dat dit kan veroorzaken.

LEVERING We zijn ook erg benieuwd waar de producten van Dassie Artisan een mooi plekje krijgen. Deel uw foto’s en inspiratie met ons door #mydassie te gebruiken op social media.

Wij streven ernaar om 80% van de bestellingen binnen 15 werkdagen te leveren. De meeste leveringen vereisen een handtekening voor ontvangst, dus zorg ervoor dat er op het doorgegeven bezorgadres iemand aanwezig is om te tekenen.

VERZENDKOSTEN

Voor bestellingen tot â‚Ź950,- brengen wij 4% van de totale bestelling in rekening als verzendkosten. Voor bestellingen boven de â‚Ź950,- brengen wij 2% van de totale bestelling in rekening als verzendkosten.

NABESTELLINGEN

Zodra een bestelling is verstuurd, zullen wij de geleverde items factureren. De niet geleverde items worden op een back-order geplaatst. Zodra deze items weer op voorraad zijn, worden ze geleverd en zullen wij deze factureren.

SCHADE EN ONVOLLEDIGE BESTELLINGEN

Voorafgaand aan de verzending zal de bestelling zorgvuldig gecontroleerd worden. Blijkt er toch een probleem te zijn, neem dan binnen 5 werkdagen contact met ons op. Samen zullen we dan zorgen voor een passende oplossing.
