“The Woods at Marly,” 1871, by Camille Pissarro

“This early painting of The Woods at Marly shows a path in the forest of the Château of Marly [England] viewed from Porte du Phare, with Marly-le-Roi in the background and featuring several small figures. It is painted using a technique of light touches of the brush that capture the vibrating light between the leaves of the trees in the same f orest that Corot painted a year later.”
