More than 500 alumni and friends returned to the Lakeside last October for Darlington’s annual Alumni Weekend celebration. Event highlights included the presentation of the Distinguished Alumnus Award to Nancy (Smith) Hunter (’65T) and The Hon. Don Maddox (’59), a 19-10 win over Christian Heritage at the Homecoming game, the annual Fall for the Arts festival and the dedication of Thornwood Hall. Reunion classes had high attendance, with 27% of alumni in classes celebrating their 50th reunion or less participating. The class parties were also a huge success, with the Class of 1972 boasting the largest number of returning alumni and the Thornwood Class of 1962 seeing 80% participation. A special thanks goes out from Darlington School to the class agents, event hosts, and all those involved in making this year’s celebration a great success. Make plans now to attend Alumni Weekend 2013, which will take place Sept. 27-29. Hope to see you there!
