Welcome to the September edition of Darlington Monthly!
A lot of change has been happening recently, as Darlington adjusts to post-lockdown life – and there’s more change still on the way, as you can see from this issue’s pages. Currently-vacant buildings in Bishop Auckland are to be brought back into use, as we report on page 8.
Meanwhile, the medieval Raby Castle, near Staindrop, is set for a major overhaul – with new spaces for dining, retail and events to be added. As soon as April 2022, your kids could be enjoying a new adventure playground to the north of the castle – head to page 14 for more details.
Much further along in the pipeline, however, are the local events listed on page 40 – with Darlington serving up a feast of live music and mirth this month. There’s also, at the cinema, the action comedy Free Guy – our copywriter Faye Richardson reviews it on page 20.
Have a great month! We’ll be back with another issue in October.
