AmongstthefirstmodernbuildingslocatedtherewastheSingaporeConferenceHallandTradeUnionHouse. Thebuildingisrecognizedasaprimeexampleof urbanarchitectureofthe1960s.
TheSingaporegovernmentalsolocateditsfinancialinstitutionsintheShentonWayarea.Amongthefirstwere theDevelopmentBankofSingapore(DBS)Building,andtheCentralProvidentFund(CPF)Building(offShenton WayatRobinsonRoad).TheMonetaryAuthorityofSingapore(MAS)alsomovedintoitsownbuilding;andthe MinistryofFinanceandtheMinistryofTradeandIndustrymovedintotheTreasuryBuilding(former,nowknown asAXATower),bothatShentonWay.
ThepresenceofthesefinancialagenciesshowthatShentonWaywasdevelopedwiththeaimofmakingitakey financialareainSingapore.
UrbanrejuvenationinShentonWayhascontinuedapaceinthenewmillennium,withmakeoversforseveralolder buildings.
InJune2017,anewbusinterchangewasbuiltinShentonWaytoservecommutersintheCentralBusiness District.
IN2015,the42-year-oldGoldenBridgewasdemolishedtomakewayfortheThomson-EastCoastMRTline.In 1973,theauthoritieshaddescribedthelinkacrossShentonWayasa pedestrian-cum-shopping

Theconceptofthesinglemodulewastobreakthetypologyofa normalhousingunitinSingapore.Theportionofeachspaceinthe apartmentisdividedequally.Whichthencreatesacentralspaceto allocatepocketsofopportunitytointeractwithpeople.Thecentral spaceisanimportanttrifactorofthedesign.Itallowsasenseof identitytotheresidencetoownandshowoff.









The massingwasa symbol of the aggregations descending to the ground. the aggregations forming a symbiotic relation with the earth introducing an underground space to invite users to explore the option of living a subterranean living experience . The aggregation symbolically lifts the ground andguidingusersdown, integrating biophilic elements to the site. Cohabitating with nature with sustainability feature.
