Ahidden gem in town known for its seclusion and quiet atmosphere, the Del Prado neighborhood is a charming centrally-located neighborhood within easy distance of everything.

Bordering Valley Avenue south of Hopyard Road, as well as Black Avenue, Del Prado is situated right in the middle of everything in Pleasanton. With one section of the neighborhood on the east side of Valley Avenue by the Alameda County Fairgrounds, and the other on the west side of Valley Avenue by the Koll Business Center and Pleasanton Gateway Shopping Center, Del Prado provides easy access to all the amenities Pleasanton has to offer.

Del Prado was built between 1968 and 1977 by three different builders — McKay Homes, Dietz Crane and Singer Homes. These homes feature three to five bedrooms and two-car garages, with living space ranging from 1,370 to over 2,500 square feet and lots from 6,500 to 9,000 square feet.

Homes in this neighborhood are beautifully maintained, and a large number of them are single story, which appeals to many prospective buyers.

“I love that it is a bit more secluded with Del Prado

lower traffic, but it is also so close to the freeway,” said Megan Banke, who has lived with her family in Del Prado for 13 years.

Easy access to the I-580 and I-680 freeways is a major draw for this neighborhood, as is its proximity to Pleasanton’s charming downtown.

Children in the area are close to many of Pleasanton’s schools, with Walnut Grove Elementary, Donlon Elementary, Hart Middle, Harvest Park Middle, Foothill High and Amador Valley High School all relatively near the neighborhood.

Neighbors are friendly and spend time together. Banke and her siblings grew up in Del Prado and said, “Our neighbors were extremely helpful and involved in our lives.” There is also plenty of space for both children and adults to get outside for exercise or play in the Del Prado neighborhood. There is a quick entrance to miles of trails near the creek, which runs along I-680 and is used frequently by runners and bicyclists. There are two parks in the neighborhood for residents of all ages to enjoy. Hansen Park spans 6.2 acres with a sports field, play structure, basketball hoops, picnic tables and barbecue pits. Del Prado Park is also nearby,
