Dantoy is one of the largest toy manufacturers in Scandinavia, and we are aware of the responsibilty we hold. Therefore we are proud and thankful for the recognition we have received.
Dantoy supports UN’s 17 goals
We are committed to developing Dantoy in alignment with the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
Dantoy supports the UN’s 17 goals through various initiatives. These include setting environmental requirements for suppliers to meet Swan certification standards, making donations, purchasing green power, and more. Dantoy selects a few of the UN’s 17 goals to focus on for a period of time before shifting attention to new goals. We are currently mainly focusing on goals 12, 13, and 17.
At Dantoy, we ensure a responsible production process by manufacturing our plastic toys in-house at our factory in Denmark.
Dantoy demands responsibility from suppliers regarding production and environmental standards.
We focus on reducing packaging, sorting, and reusing materials.
We use 100% climate-friendly power.
We are increasing recycling in packaging — both cardboard and plastic.
We are increasing the utilization of our waste.
We will reduce our use of diesel by switching to hybrid vehicles for our sales cars.
Most of our marked is certified with the Nordic Swan Ecolabel.
With our TAKE BACK concept, we collect used toys through partnerships. We clean it, and create new granulate before making new toys again.
Dantoy is a partner in Operation Clean Sweep. - an organisation working towards a cleaner environment.

Fantastic reduction in carbon footprint
We are committed to addressing climate change by actively reducing our carbon footprint. We are pleased to share the positive results from our latest verified CO2 accounting report for the entire company.

Supply Chain
The report covers Dantoy’s entire supply chain. We continuously strive to create a more environmentally friendly cycle for our products and take responsibility for the entire process.
Resource E ciency
We are committed to making the most of our resources and embracing circular design principles. We aim to create toys that support a more sustainable future.
Our products and packaging can be separated and recycled 100%. In 2023 Dantoy has achieved a recycling rate of 88% for our waste.
Energy E ciency
Renewable energy is a crucial element of our green strategy.
We continuously track our consumption and use 100% climate-friendly electricity from wind turbines for our production, warehouse, and administration in Denmark.
Sustainable Materials
In our product range, we are always searching for new sustainable materials. For example, recycled plastic, bio plast, natural materials and swan-labelled fossil materials.
Our Bio products, made from sugarcane, absorb CO2 during cultivation, which in 2023 amounted to 787 tonnes of CO2 equivalent.
Sustainable Packaging and Distribution
Sustainable packaging and logistics are priorities for us. Our packaging is made solely from FSC-certified paper and cardboard, showing our commitment to responsible sourcing.
Recycling in our cardboard allows us to reduce our footprint by 113 tonnes of CO2 equivalent per year.
Take Back
Old toys become new toys
Dantoy are collecting old Dantoy plastic toys from Danish recycling sites and are working together with various childcare institutions in Denmark. The old toys are washed and sorted in our factory, and the plastic are recycled for new toys.
We have called our recycling project Take Back and we aim to expand it to the rest of Scandinavia.

Our Pastel Line is made from recycled material and is certified with the Nordic Swan Ecolabel. The light-coloured recycled plastic used in this line is collected in a closed loop, where it is cleaned and processed. Making it possible to create a recycled line in delicate pastel colours.

Bioplastic toy, made of at least 90% sugarcane, a sustainable raw material. Our bioplastic is 100% recyclable. dantoy BIO products are of the same high quality as our conventional plastic toys.
The Braskem “I’m Green” symbol may only be used if the amount of sustainable raw materials contained in the product has been verified. “I’m Green” PE (bioplastic) is made of at least 90% sugarcane (ethanol). Ethanol, a form of alcohol, is extracted from sugarcane, after which it is used to make bioplastic.
Plastic toys that carry the Nordic Swan Ecolabel comply with one of the world’s most stringent environmental certifications. Ecolabelled products may not contain phthalates, synthetic fragrances or endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs). To qualify for eco-labelling, the entire life cycle of the product, from raw material to production, use, disposal and recycling, is assessed.
99% of dantoy’s plastic toys are both designed and manufactured in-house at our o ce and factory in Hobro, Denmark.
All dantoy toy products comply with the European EN71 standard, and our products therefore meet the safety requirements for toys sold in the EU.
Our child use and care articles, cutlery, drinking and feeding utensils are certified in accordance with EN14372 and EN14350.
dantoy is certified to environmental standard ISO 14001, which means that via environmental focus, the company aims to minimise harmful environmental impacts by using sustainable processes, minimising consumption of energy, water and raw materials, recycling spillage and waste, and maintaining a healthy working environment.
dantoy is certified to quality standard ISO 9001, which obliges us to observe high standards, including uniform quality, product safety, quality control and assurance (taking random samples and testing), as well as written procedures that ensure that our production processes are standardised.
All dantoy toy products carry the CE mark, a key indicator of product compliance with the EU legislation that enables the free movement of products within the European market.
dantoy is “Der Grüne Punkt”-accredited. This is a German eco-label implemented by Duales Systems Deutschland GmbH that verifies that dantoy collects and recycles used packaging.
dantoy is a partner in Operation Clean Sweep, an organisation working towards a cleaner environment whose aims include reducing the discharge of plastic granules from manufacturing companies into the sea.
All dantoy Dinnertime eating, drinking and cutlery sets are approved for food contact. However, other toys (role play-items) may only be used for brief periods of contact, with all kinds of food.
All dantoy products are dishwasher safe. However, we advise you not to wash products with labels in the dishwasher. All dantoy role-play toys (cups, plates, bowls, etc.) are microwave safe.
Our products are generally labelled with EAN codes.
NB: Individual items in our large pre-school sets are not individually marked with EAN codes. The sets are marked with EAN codes on the outside of the packaging.
