dantoy is a private, family-owned company founded more than 50 years ago in 1964. We design and produce quality plastic toys using the latest technology and materials.

The factory site covers 16,000 square metres (160,000 square feet) with round the clock production process. dantoy exports 80% of its total turnover to 55 countries around the world.

dantoy is conveniently located close to Aarhus, the second largest city of Denmark, and an important traffic hub and shipping port.

For dantoy, sustainability is not a trend or a new phenomenon. On the contrary, it has always

been part of our DNA, which means that our journey towards less environmentally damag ing production methods is part of our history and evolution.

We were among the first toy companies to be globally certified for ISO 14001 and 9001. In 2010, we were the first toy manufacturer in the world to get the Nordic Swan Ecolabel because we wanted to focus on chemicalfree play.

In recent years, we have developed three new sustainable universes; BIO, Green Bean and Blue Marine Toys, which have taken the world by storm. We are proud to say that all three of them are now award winners in sustainability.

Green Garden - a line that encourages children to explore and learn about the every day life of grown-ups. Green Garden develops different skills, including coordination of motor skills and fine finger dexterity. Green Garden includes vegetables, play food and tools for tending to your garden. This product line is made of plastic that comes from nets, trawls, and ropes from the fishing and maritime industry. This range is a collection of products that together can be considered as part of a story. The net-liked structured products include, i.e. a mill where sand runs through several processes, just as the plastic materials are thoroughly sorted, and lorries which transport the maritime gear, boats and animals of the sea.

Old toys become new toys

Environment and responsibility are part of dantoy’s DNA; therefore, we also want to take responsibility for our products, even when the toys are no longer usable. Therefore, dantoy now collects used dan toy toys, so they can be part of the process where old toys become new toys.

We have started collecting our old toys at the Dan ish recycling sites and collaborating with selected (child care) institutions in Denmark. We call this re cycling project Take Back. Later, we aim to expand Take Back to Scandinavia.

Our vision of establishing partnerships with recy cling sites and child care institutions makes it pos sible to collect and recycle our plastic material in most of the world. The concept also helps to focus on our environ ment in the kindergartens, and the institutions receive educational and fun learning material as inspiration to teaching the children about the im portance of recycling.

Important symbols of quality

Blue Marine Toys are made from maritime gear; nets, trawls and ropes from the fishing industry.

Made from 100% recycled, Nordic Swan Ecolabelled materials that is collected from our own in-house production.

Bioplastic toy, made of at least 90% sugarcane, a sustainable raw materiale, and our bioplastic is 100% recyclable. dantoy BIO products have the same qualities as our traditional plastic toys.

The “I’m Green” symbol from Braskem, may only be used after the amount of sustainable raw materials contained in the product has been verified. “I’m Green” PE (bioplastic) is made of at least 90% sugarcane (ethanol). Ethanol, a form of alcohol, is extracted from sugarcane, after which it is used to make bioplastic.

Plastic toys licensed for the Nordic Swan Ecolabel must comply with one of the world’s strictest environ mental certifications in the world. Ecolabelled products may not contain phthalates, synthetic fragrances or endocrine-disruptive substances. The entire life cycle of the product, from raw material to production, use, disposal and recycling, is included in the assessment, when drawing up the requirements for an ecolabelled product.

99% of dantoy’s toys are manufactured in-house at our factory in Hobro, Denmark.

All dantoy toy products comply with the European EN71 standard, meaning that our products meet all safety requirements for toys sold in the EU.

Likewise, EN14372 and EN14350 ensure our child use and care articles cutlery, drinking and feeding equip ment..

dantoy is certified to environmental standard ISO 14001, meaning that the company’s environmental focus aims to minimise harmful environmental impact by using processes, controlling the consumption of en ergy, water and raw materials, recycling spills and waste, and upholding a healthy working environment.

dantoy is certified to quality standard ISO 9001, which ensures high uniform quality, high product safety, evaluation and retention of high quality, random samples and testing, as well as written procedures to ensure uniform production processes.

All dantoy toy products carry the CE mark, a key indicator of product compliance with the EU legislation that enables the free movement of products in the European market.

dantoy is licensed pursuant to “Der Grüne Punkt”, a German eco-label implemented by Duales Systems Deutschland GmbH, to symbolise dantoy’s collection and recycling of used packaging.

dantoy is a partner of Operation Clean Sweep, which is working for a cleaner environment and whose aims include reducing the discharge of plastic granules from manufacturing companies into the sea.

All dantoy Dinnertime eating, drinking and cutleryset are approved for contact with foods. However toys (role play-items) can only be used for short time contact, for all kind of food.

All dantoy products are dishwasher safe. However, it is not advisable to wash products with labels in the dishwasher.

All dantoy role-play items (cups, plates, bowls, etc.) are microwave safe.

We generally label our products with EAN-codes. BE AWARE that all single items in our large preeschool sets are not individually marked with EAN codes, only on the outside of the cardboard box.
