Jaskyniari stoja pri objavovaní nepoznaných jaskýň pred mnohými výzvami. Zameranie a vyhotovenie mapovej dokumentácie je prvým krokom k predstaveniu novej jaskyne svetu. Aby si však jej priestory vedeli dokonalo predstaviť aj tí, ktorí ich nenavštívili, treba chodby, siene, priepasti a dómy zdokumentovať fotograficky. Na scénu nastupujú jaskynní fotografi – fotografi, ktorí sa rokmi praxe adaptovali na špecifiká podzemného sveta. Jedinečnosť, akú ukrýva každá z jaskýň, zachytávajú so zreteľom na vhodnú kompozíciu, svetlo prispôsobujú scéne, svoj objekt pozorujú a skúmajú v snahe preniknúť do hlbín jeho duše. Práve v tom spočíva umenie. V snahe zaznamenať svet svojím vlastným, osobitým pohľadom. Umelec je mediátorom, ktorý nám pomáha vidieť veci, aké bežní smrteľníci v zhone súčasného života často prehliadajú. Niekto na svoje umelecké vyjadrenie použije štetce a plátno, iný fotoaparát. Nástroje sa odlišujú, ale podstata ostáva rovnaká. V našom prípade – zhmotniť ideu podzemia.
There are many of challenges, which the cavers, discovering the untouched caves, face day by day. The survey and drawing the cave-plan represent just the first step to the introduction of a new cave to the world. However, for perfect imagination, even by those, who did not visit its corridors, abysses, and chambers, the cave must be documented photographically. In this moment, cave photographers enter the scene – photographers, who have adapted to the specifics of the underground world over the years of practice. They bring the uniqueness of each of the caves regarding a suitable composition; they adapt the lights to the scene, as well as observe their object penetrating deep into its soul. That is the principle of art. Trying to record the world with your own unique perspective. An artist is a mediator, who helps us to see things, that ordinary people, in the rush of world around, may overlook. Someone uses brushes and canvas for their artistic expression, another uses a camera. The tools are different, but the essence is the same: to materialize the idea of the underground.
Roku 2020 prebehol symbolický 20. ročník fotografickej súťaže s témou jaskýň – Speleofotografia 2020. Svoje diela predstavilo 42 fotografov zo 14 krajín sveta. Opäť sa prezentovali v dvoch kategóriách – Krása jaskýň a Speleomoment. Zachytili tak nielen úžasné detaily jaskynnej výzdoby a krás podzemného sveta, ale aj momenty z objavovania jaskýň a ich prieskumu. Striedajú sa tak statické motívy neživej prírody s dynamikou sveta, ktorý do jaskýň preniká spolu s ich objaviteľmi. Odborná porota súťaž vyhodnotila a jej výsledky spolu so stovkou najúspešnejších fotografií nájdete v katalógu, ktorý práve držíte v rukách. Prajeme Vám príjemné chvíle pri jeho listovaní! In 2020, the symbolic 20th year of the photographic competition with the theme of caves – Speleofotografia 2020 – took place. Within two categories – Beauty of Caves and Speleomoment – 42 photographers from 14 countries presented their pictures. They represented not only plenty of amazing details of the cave formations as decoration of the underground world, but also the feeling of moments of discovering and exploration of caves. Thus, the static motifs of inorganic nature alternate with the dynamics of the elements, which penetrates the caves together with their discoverers. The jury evaluated the competition, and its results, together with a hundred of the top photographs, can be found in the catalogue you are holding in your hands.
