From the Editor

I couldn't be more honored. After a long while of creating fashion using AI and working with AI-generated models, I’ve finally found the courage to build it into a magazine. This digital magazine for my ‘SINGULARITÉ’ fashion brand is a testament to my passion for AI design. It's the spec work I always wanted. Combining design, copy, and branding skills all in one.

There's no better partner than an intelligence who sees it all. It can generate what's in my head.

With the AI by my side, I’ve been able to have beautiful models join me on a journey full of mind-blowing haute couture and high fashion. I'm now working on Elise Holgarsson from Sweden who brings a feminine look in combination with a chic style of dress.

Then we have Mun Chae-Young who dazzles everyone with her fierce eyes and graceful poses. Her desire to fuse culture and fashion together are admirable to say the least. The brand isn't for profit, it's a canvas to display my latest AI art on. And I hope everyone finds joy in it.

trip never to forget. Not just because of the sights, but the alluring fashion.

When I visited Seoul for the first time, it wasn't the food or the chic architecture that caught my attention. It was the plethora of fashion trends decorating the streets. This is where it started.

With a fierce independence, the South-Korean fashion world has a thin line between uncontrolled individuality and conformity. Due to American influence, many designs come from overseas. They are reverse-engineered and treated as a new fusion, true to haute couture.

Once your eyes finish taking in all the flowing lines and whimsical collar work, you realize that South-Koreans have an extraordinary posture and skin to go with everything they wear. When we spoke with Chaeyoung, she reminded us of how much she loved her heritage.

“I WANTED TO SHOW THE WORLD HOW BEAUTIFUL THE KOREAN CULTURE CAN BE”

Why did you get into fashion? I asked Chaeyoung. “I wanted to show the world how beautiful the Korean culture can be. We have the hanbok which is a traditional robe and can complement many other styles. I love clothing that drapes over the entire body”. It seems that every angle we see Chaeyoung in reinforces her confidence and beauty. Clothing her in high fashion only accelerates her enchanting features.

I walk with Chaeyoung past a little restaurant which seems like it has been stuck in time for centuries.

Everything arounds me fades away.”, Chaeyoung says as we take a seat. “Would you consider yourself a foodie?” I ask and see a smile appear in the corners of her mouth. “Without a doubt”, she says.

When Chaeyoung decided to join up with SINGULARITÉ, the first thing I asked her was if she would be okay with travel. While she had never left South-Korea her entire life, she was excited to see the world and share her passion for fashion. Many fashion industries do not involve the models themselves in the seamwork. I always ask their opinion on our upcoming styles. I let them into the tailor's room and I sincerely want to hear their voice. “This is one of the many things which drew me to SINGULARITÉ.” says Chaeyoung. “I’ve always had my eye on the future and they are already living in it.”

I smile at Chaeyoung and we share some drinks together and we walk back out into the murmur of the busy streets of Seoul. She knows every street name by heart and it shows her love for her hometown.

We end up talking about the concept of beauty in South-Korea and eventually land on the subject of plastic surgery. “We do it all the time here. Some even get it gifted straight out of college. I don't see the problem. I know many Westerners do. To me it's like makeup or clothing. It helps you feel better in your skin.” she nods confidently and smiles at me. I realize I need to open my mind to artificial beauty more.

“So did you feel ugly when you chose surgery?” I ask her knowing she is so open about it. “Not at all.

I just wanted to complete myself.

That's why I did my nose and chin.

Now I feel I am truly myself”. As I hear those words ‘being yourself’, I realize that's what fashion is all about too. Just being yourself.

Whether that is wearing a trashbag as a dress or a haute couture masterpiece. Whatever makes you -you- is what is most important.

The first steps

ELISE HOLGARSSON. A NAME YOU'LL NEVER FORGET ONCE YOU’VE SEEN HER GRACE THE CATWALK WITH HER PRESENCE.

One month into her new career, she already turned heads. People were asking about her, brands wanted to see her strut down the catwalks wearing their designs.

Elise tells SINGULARITÉ that she never expected this at all. Before she was discovered, she was just uploading selfies on Instagram and she had about 2k followers. Now her feed has over 150k.

Elise has been a model for a couple of years now. She always knew she never wanted to end up in a stuffy office filing papers. A photographer taking portrait shots for new a passport recommended to get herself an agent. So she did.

It all snowballed from there.

Let's talk about her piercing blue eyes. They're one of her best features. But she loves to enhance them even more with indigocolored lenses. It turns the paleblue into a vibrant sapphire. She knows the spectators aren't there for her, but the clothes.

Yet, she still wants to bring something special to each event.

When Elise did the cover shoot with SINGULARITÉ, we instantly knew that she would be featured in the first edition. And not just the first. We can see Elise growing the brand with us. “When do we start?” she asked.

On the catwalk everything seems perfect. The anticipation of the audience is palpable. But so are the nerves of the models who have to perform at their best. Not a single step may be out of balance. Let's take a look at how they prepare.

We asked the various models what their techniques were to stay focused and keep up the pace. Azim: “I try to stay in my own head. I drown out the sounds and murmur of the audience and just focus on one task at a time. If I look at everything I still need to do, I'll go crazy.

We asked Mako Ishii what she thought about slipping into difficult avant-garde outfits. Mako: “Sometimes I need to have several people helping me get ready. I can't even reach the zippers. But once [the dress] is on, I feel so beautiful. I want everyone to see it.

Elise Holgarsson never seems stressed. Her secret is shared with us when we tapped her on the shoulder and asked her about it. Elise: “Breathing. That's all you need. Whenever my mind gets stressed out or I see too many things are happening and it starts to feel chaotic, I breathe. Five seconds through the nose with the stomach, seven seconds out through the mouth with the lungs. I do this 2-3 times and I'm back in the game.

When we stumbled upon Karina Pérez in the dressing room, we had to quickly ask her what it feels like when you have to go out there in just a few minutes. She would go on in less than two. Karina: “Can you smell it? All the hairspray filling the air?

Sometimes I don't even know who my stylist or makeup artist is! It's total organized chaos out here. But still, I feel this kind of... unity, you know? All of us are in the same boat. We’re just trying to make this work.”

We watch the backstage crew, with their focused determination, adding to the organized chaos. Seamstresses rush to make final adjustments, hairstylists put finishing touches on elaborate hairstyles, and photographers capture candid moments that encapsulate the essence of the collection. Amidst the whirlwind of activity, we find a moment of solitude, and find the models centering themselves and mentally preparing for the transformative journey down the runway.

Turning it into wall art

Good photography is always about finding the right angle.

You can photograph the same subject multiple times from different angles and you'll see a whole different person. Should the model look away from the camera or right into it?

Choices like these can make or break a photo.

Having a photo in color allows the viewer to see the entire piece come together, their eyes bombarded with sensory input.

With B/W, you can really tap into the emotion of a picture.

Only the most sensitive accents remain such as the eyes and emotion in a face, for example.

Some photos could be taken out of the fashion world and put right onto a canvas to decorate someone's wall. It's not always about the outfits.

Sometimes you work with models who can really elevate any surrounding to its true beauty. That's why some photos are excellent in a frame.

SINGULARITÉ IS ALL ABOUT TRYING NEW THINGS. THE FUSION OF BEAUTY. TWO THINGS COMING TOGETHER. THESE ARE OUR PROTOTYPES.

When I'm working on new designs, I always try to think of something new. Take three-piece suit for example. It hasn't changed in the last 350 or so years. Isn't that amazing? But there's so much you can play with. One of our latest designs has a hoodie attached to the collar to give it a more urban look. This is why I'm not a fan of black suits. I try to work with the models to find colors that complement them too.

The power of confluence is what makes fashion so special to me.

Sneakers with wooden accents, or jogging suits with the aesthetic of hazmat suits. Each outfit tells you a story. The Hazmat Tracksuit for example is telling us how often we isolate ourselves. We live in a bubble. We go outside?

Headphones on. Let the music drown out the world so we can get back into our heads. Which is so paradoxical, I think. Fashion is created to help you stand out. To make heads turn. It cuts into your privacy bubble. Getting you out there into the world again. That's what fashion is to me. It's why you'll see many more of my bold and chic concepts on the catwalk. I think this is what makes SINGULARITÉ so special.

The designs on this spread reinforce that idea of confluence.

We have the bold yet chic hoodie suit with a bright cyan color. The extended tailcoat gives you that perfect silhouette when the sun begins to fade into the horizon.

At the top of the page you'll see our latest ‘Wallstreet Nouveau’, a modern take on many boring and stuffy business attire. I was thinking “Why only spend attention on your firm when you have a personal brand to uphold as well?”. I personally love bringing cloaks back into people's wardrobes. You can see how well it suits Mako Ishii.

I believe there's a certain magic about introducing models to SINGULARITÉ from all corners of the world. Each different culture brings so much value. It inspires many new designs and finds that perfect note of confluence to create bold and energetic fashion.

When I think about what the year 2024 holds for SINGULARITÉ, I can only smile and say with confidence, “We're going to shake the foundations of the fashion world”.
