It was a dull windy morning. clouds were hanging low and no one dared to play outside in this ho ible weather.

Luckily, any weather is perfect weather for a visit to the art museum! So hop on in the tube and let s get exploring!

And so we begin our journey at the British Museum in the ancient Greek collection, look at all these different pottery ve els! some of these were used to ca y different products such as milk or wine, others were meant to be used for specific events such as wedding ceremonies, if you look closer you can see all of them were painted with different designs depicting various aspects of greek culture, mythology and history if you had the chance to design one what would you paint on it? would it be something you already know? like your family and friends, maybe your favorite flower or dish? or would it be something imaginary, like a dragon eating icecream, or a mermaid playing guitar.

We have a ived at the National Gallery, the painting we are looking at now is called Bathers at Asnieres by French artist Georges Seurat, it portrays a sunny afternoon at the river Seine where people lay down peacefully and take a relaxing bath, Seurat made this painting using several techniques, such a cro hatching and bold brushstrokes, he also used a technique he was developing at the time, called pointillism, in which he would make small dots of color to create a pattern that when looked at from afar made a clear figure. what do you think of this picture? does it remind you of any holidays you might have had?

Our last stop is the Tate Modern, so many people su ound this huge painting! this artwork was made by the Ru ian artist Natalia Goncharova, having grown up in the countryside her work was inspired by Ru ian peasant culture and painted in popular styles of that time period, In this piece, she depicts women gardeners in a day of work, the scene is painted in a flat style with colors ranging from pinks, purples and blues, highlighting the worker s femininity, what do you think of the painting? what colors would you use that could represent how you feel about it?

and after a long day of looking and learning about art, it is time for a well deserved rest, until next time.

The end.
