6 month Snapshot Summary The individuals served by Above and Beyond are primarily African American males from Chicago. Amongst the Chicago Community Areas, the majority of clients served identified addresses located within: Austin, Humboldt Park, East Garfield Park, West Garfield Park, and North Lawndale. Despite accounting for roughly one quarter of the individuals served by Above and Beyond, women attend groups at higher rates than the men served by ANB. The majority of clients served have never been married and have at least one child. Regardless of gender, roughly two thirds of both male and female clients served are unemployed and report no income upon admission. Per client self- reporting at intake, cannabis and alcohol are the two most commonly reported primary substances of choice. Following intake, individuals are assessed for needs, assigned a therapist, and work together to create a treatment plan. The client treatment plan serves as a guide as to the number and types of groups and other supportive services a client should attend. Just over two thirds (68%) of clients served matriculate from screening to attend at least one group. Of those who matriculate to group, just over 30% of clients complete their Treatment plan and move to program graduation. The purpose of this report is to provide an overview of the data collected and stored within Kipu (Above and Beyond’s data management system). In doing so, the information from this report can be used to drive the work forward in two critical areas: 1) Develop a learning agenda to guide performance management by setting knowledge and information priorities. Ex: a) Who did we reach? b) Are we creating a therapeutic environment that fosters recovery? c) How do the clients we serve grow or change? 2) Identify gaps in regards to data collection and enhancement.
