Stretch è una seduta a prima vista elementare ma sorprendente nella forma della struttura e capace di rivelare una cura profonda in tutti i dettagli funzionali, materici e cromatici. Richiama una classica seduta da regista ma la forma è semplificata ed estremizzata in un tratto pulito che sembra sfidare le regole tradizionali proponendo solo due gambe posteriori con una seduta a sbalzo. I profili verticali in tubo metallico a sezione ovale 35x15 mm si prolungano in due gambe che corrono sul pavimento per bilanciare e sostenere il peso. A questa si contrappongono due estensioni che accolgono la seduta. Seduta e schienale sono realizzati con fasce elastiche altamente strutturali che sostengono il peso adattandosi però alle forme rendendo così Stretch comoda e confortevole ma resistente nel tempo. Le fasce cucite ad anello calzano facilmente nella struttura, secondo una soluzione ottimale anche per semplificarne la manutenzione. Per aumentare il comfort all’interno della fascia della seduta è inserito un cuscino che resta visibile frontalmente. Stretch si rivela comoda e funzionale, leggera ed impilabile, perfetta per l’ambito domestico così come per gli spazi collettivi.
Revealing great attention to functional detail, especially the choice of materials and colors, Stretch is a simple-looking seat, that is also outstanding from a structural point of view. It recalls a classical director seat. The shape has been simplified while it is characterized by clear-cut features. However, the product challenges ingrained traditions because it only has two hind legs and a cantilevered seat. The two vertical 35x15mm oval shaped metal tubes stretch, becoming two legs that run on the floor for weight support and balance. Two extensions make up the seat. The seat and the back are made of elastic bands, stretching and adapting when someone seats. The chair is very comfortable and long-lasting because it is made of excellent quality materials. The bands are sewn to fit easily into the ring structure for easy maintenance. To increase comfort, the seat has a cushion that is visible from the front. Stretch turns out to be comfortable and functional, lightweight and stackable, perfect for the home as well as public spaces. Structure, bands and pillow are color-coordinated and come in shades of red, white and dark gray, allowing the logos of the designers and Danese to stand out.

Monocromia riprende i principi sviluppati da Quadricromia e li sviluppa dedicando il progetto ad un aspetto più specifico. Come Quadricromia è un sistema di superfici interpretabile, di elementi che non hanno una precisa definizione tipologica ma che con il loro utilizzo possono intervenire nella definizione e riqualificazione degli ambienti. Rispetto al primo progetto sviluppato da Danese con Jean Nouvel Monocromia è una superficie pensata più specificatamente per essere appesa come un moderno arazzo dalle qualità fonoassorbenti e fonoisolanti. Due tubi di alluminio sostengono alle estremità un panno di feltro di lana che si avvolge attorno a questi creando una doppia superficie isolante che migliora le qualità acustiche dell’ambiente. Le superfici si sviluppano secondo più dimensioni modulari in colori neutri e saturi così da rendere possibili differenti configurazioni nel loro accostamento per incontrare qualsiasi esigenza spaziale rispetto alle dimensioni ed aprire ad un’espressività completa rispetto all’impatto estetico delle composizioni grafiche e degli accostamenti cromatici.
Monocromia incorporates the principles developed in Quadricromia, and develops them further with new objectives. Likes Quadricromia is an original system of interpretable surfaces, of elements without a typological definition that can address well renovation issues. Compared to the first project develpoed by Danese with Jean Nouvel Monocromia is in fact a surface designed more specifically to be hung as a modern tapestry with soundabsorbing and sound-insulating qualities. Two aluminum tubes support the ends of a cloth of wool felt which wraps around these creating a double insulating panel which improves the acoustic qualities of the environment. The panels come in different modular dimensions and in neutral and saturated colors so as to make possible different configurations according to space requirements and allow full aesthetic expressiveness.

Quadricromia è un sistema di superfici interpretabile, di elementi che non hanno una precisa definizione tipologica ma che con il loro utilizzo possono intervenire nella definizione e riqualificazione degli ambienti. Uno strato di Tibaud fittamente cucito è accoppiato ad uno di feltro. Tibaud è un materiale povero, ottenuto dalla lavorazione di scarti di fili e tessuti, la griglia irregolare di cuciture ha la funzione di aggiungere compattezza e qualità strutturali a questa materia disomogenea e crea un segno grafico tono su tono che non vuole essere decoro aggiunto ma è appunto una conseguenza di una necessità funzionale. Si ottiene così una superficie double face dalle numerose qualità che rispecchiano a pieno i valori della progettualità di Danese. Rispetto allo spazio interviene nella sua articolazione dividendolo fisicamente, se usato come quinta, o delimitandone la percezione, se posto lungo le sue superfici. Quadricromia è infatti un elemento bidimensionale che si adatta però alla tridimensionalità degli ambienti, steso sulle superfici orizzontali (non solo pavimenti ma anche piani) , appeso lungo le pareti come un arazzo contemporaneo, sospeso ad intervallare gli spazi o fissato a soffitto. Rispetto all’uomo interviene su tre sensi per migliorare la sua percezione dell’ambiente. Ha ottime capacità di assorbimento acustico influendo così positivamente sul comfort degli spazi. Ha qualità tattili che si possono diversamente apprezzare nella varietà dei suoi utilizzi. Ha qualità percettive frattaliche, il suo aspetto è creato dalla casualità, da una rete strutturale irregolare accoppiata a una disomogeneità materica che genera ricchezza percettiva in una apparente povertà materica in cui la bellezza viene dall’imprecisione. Percettivamente a distanza si ha una predominanza cromatica (grigio, panna o rosso nelle tre versioni) ma avvicinandosi alla superficie si riconosce il gioco dei diversi colori visibile nel fondo, effetto ottico a cui fa riferimento il nome Quadricromia. La casualità nella combinazione visibile delle pareti di materiali riciclati fa sì che ogni pezzo sia unico perchè la texture risultante è sempre diversa. L’unicità è industriale, involontaria e democratica , segue leggi vicine a quelle della crescita naturale, aggiunge ricchezza al progetto senza renderlo esclusivo. Rispetto all’ambiente è attento in tutte le fasi del suo ciclo di vita. Deriva dal riciclo di materiali di scarto, arrotolabile riduce al minimo gli ingombri, è resistente e riutilizzabile in infinite situazioni ma praticamente monomaterico e quindi facilmente nuovamente riciclabile.
Quadricromia is an original system of interpretable surfaces, of elements without a typological definition that can address well renovation issues. A layer of densely Tibaud sewing is coupled with one of felt. Tibaud is a poor material, obtained by processing fabric yarn wastes. The irregular grid of seams has the function to add firmness and structural qualities to this uneven matter and to create a graphic tone-on-tone decor as a consequence of a functional necessity. The result is a high quality double-sided surface that reflects well Danese’s design values. Regarding the area involved, this surface divides space physically if used as a wing and it influences your perception if its´ placed along the walls. Quadricromia is in fact a two-dimensional element that enhances three-dimensional environments, lying on horizontal surfaces (not only floors, but also other surfaces), hanging along the walls like contemporary tapestries, suspended to separate spaces or attached to the ceiling. As far as men are concerned, it affects three of the five senses and improves the perception of the environment. Its sound absorption features are excellent thus influencing positively the comfort of space. Its tactile characteristics can be differently appreciated in the variety of its uses. Thanks to its high standard of quality (high quality fractals), and the fact that it can be placed creatively and originally, results as an irregular patchwork arrangement that generates perception of wealth in an apparent material poverty in which beauty is determined by imprecision. At a certain distance there seems to be a chromatic predominance (gray, cream or red in three versions), but closer to the surface you can detect the play of different colors visible in the background, the name Quadricromia refers to this optical effect. The randomness in the combination of visible walls of recycled materials makes each piece is unique because the resulting texture is always different. The uniqueness is industrial, involuntary and democratic, and it follows laws similar to those of natural growth. It also adds richness to the design without making it exclusive. The environment is respected in all stages of its life cycle. It derives from the recycling of waste materials, rollable (minimizing clutter), durable and reusable in endless situations. It is made of a single material hence easily recyclable again.

Domestic Spine è una struttura nuda ed essenziale dedicata all’accoglienza, un elemento che racchiude ganci, mensole a sbalzo inclinate e ripiani a tutta lunghezza per ospitare gli oggetti personali di chi si avvicina ad uno spazio. All’interno di una struttura portante a C sono disposti i diversi elementi funzionali che permettono di riporre a vista abiti, accessori, borse, piccoli oggetti E’ self standing e aperto quindi può separare parzialmente uno spazio come una quinta visiva, dividere un ingresso da un’area di vita. In questo caso è un elemento che costituisce un filtro visivo ed emotivo, rappresenta il passaggio da una situazione a un’altra, da un esterno anche estraneo ad un interno vissuto e partecipato. “Una struttura di ospitalità ridotta all’essenziale: un oggetto quasi bidimensionale per passare in secondo piano e meglio accogliere la vita in tre dimensioni. Lasciare il cappotto è anche simbolicamente lasciare la porta verso il mondo esterno per godere più facilmente dello spazio in cui entriamo” Matali Crasset Può anche essere interpretato come un piccolo armadio guardaroba aperto inserito negli ambienti non solo domestici. Domestic Spine is designed to conveniently accommodate personal belongings in your home. It is a bare structure yet it has comfortable and very useful hooks where you can hang clothes and spacious inclined cantilevered shelves where you can place your accessories or various objects. In fact, within a C-shaped supporting structure are arranged various functional elements that allow you to visibly store clothes, accessories, handbags and small objects. 4MB è una struttura che si allontana dalle tradizionali distinzioni tipologiche, è un elemento trasformabile con cui interagire per vivere gli spazi contemporanei. Quattro elementi a C di dimensioni proporzionalmente crescenti si combinano a una base con rotelle. Questi possono essere chiusi in un elemento compatto che occupa il minimo spazio e che può con semplici gesti trasformarsi per seguire le esigenze delle diverse attività. Ogni elemento ha dei tagli sulla superficie superiore che consentono l’incastro del modulo immediatamente più piccolo. In questo modo possono essere impilati per creare una piccola libreria sulla base mobile o separati per definire elementi più bassi su cui riporre, tavolini o sedute. 4MB è infatti realizzato in multistrato curvato con uno spessore tale da poter sostenere carichi anche abbastanza elevati. Diventa quindi un prodotto aperto alle più diverse interpretazioni, infinitamente riconfigurabile e mutevole, un utile supporto per spazi non solo domestici.
4MB is a structure that little has to do with traditional design. It is a versatile element to interact with in contemporary spaces. The structure is composed of four C-shaped elements, proportionally increasing in size, which can be combined to a wheeled base. These can be closed in a compact unit that takes up minimal space and can be transformed with simple gestures to meet the requirements of the different activities. Each element has cuts on the top of the surface that allow the interlocking of the smaller modules. This way they can be stacked to create a small bookcase or kept as separate elements where to store objects, or become small tables or seats. 4MB is in fact made of bent plywood with a thickness that can withstand significant loads of weight. Reconfigurable and adjustable, it is open to different interpretations and is equally suitable for home and office.

Davis è una mensola estremamente elementare e pulita nelle forme ma funzionale, adatta sia agli spazi domestici che di lavoro. Dal semplice taglio e piega di una lamiera metallica si ottiene una struttura che sostiene i libri e li contiene grazie ad una sorta di cornice che si separa dal piano principale inclinandosi verso l’alto. Ne deriva un profilo leggero ma capiente, capace di supportare libri e documenti fino al formato A4. Davis è progettata come elemento indipendente o in una configurazione a libreria in cui cinque mensole sono montate su una struttura inclinata a 5°. In questa il linguaggio pulito della mensola viene scaldato dall’accostamento materico con il legno d’acero dei montanti. Nella versione a libreria può essere introdotto al posto delle mensola superiore un elemento in cui il piano d’appoggio dei libri è eliminato lasciando solo la cornice che, non piegata, sporge rispetto allo spessore delle mensole sottostanti. In questo modo si crea un elemento aperto a diverse interpretazioni su cui appendere in modo informale oggetti, abiti, riviste.
Davis is an extremely basic but functional shelf, which is suitable for both home and work spaces. From the simple cutting and bending of a metal sheet is obtained a structure that supports the books and contains them thanks to a sort of frame which is separated from the main top sloping upwards. The result is a lightweight but spacious profile that is capable of supporting books and documents (up to A4 size). Davis is designed to be used as an independent element or to be configured in a bookcase. Five shelves are mounted on a structure inclined at 5 °. The simplicity of the design of the shelf is enlivened by the maple wood of the uprights. In place of the upper shelf, in the bookcase version, another element can be introduced. In this case, the support surface of the books is not provided leaving only the frame that, not folded, protrudes with respect to the shelves below. In this way you create an element open to different interpretations on which to hang clothes or place objects like magazines in a casual way.

Magazine Rack è un portariviste modulare che attraverso la semplice piega tridimensionale di un sottile tondino metallico crea strutture che combinandosi moltiplicano la loro funzionalità. La particolare geometria della piega infatti fa si che affiancando con la giusta distanza due moduli dal vuoto si crei un terzo profilo portariviste. Questa geometria sviluppata per la versione a parete dà vita anche ad un elemento self standing che ne riprende le proporzioni . Su una elementare struttura portante inclinata si incastrano tre cestelli estraibili con un piccolo piano per poter agevolmente spostare e trasportare le riviste contenute. L’intero sistema è leggero e minimale, lascia protagonista il suo contenuto ma è al tempo stesso un segno grafico forte e caratterizzane anche grazie ai suoi colori accesi e decisi.
It is a modular rack resulting from the simple three-dimensional fold of a thin metal rod that creates several structures suitable for multiple needs. If the two modules are placed at the right distance, the particular shape of the fold allows for the creation of a third profile This shape, developed for the wall version, also gives life to a self-standing element with the same proportions. On a simple, tilted, load-bearing structure fit three pull-out baskets with a small plane to easily move the magazines. The system is lightweight and simple, whilst it is the content that dominates the environment. However, with its bright and sharp colors, the rack is quite eye catching and enhances the surroundings.

Danese continua il percorso di riedizione delle stampe di Enzo Mari, opere grafiche che hanno segnato la sua storia e l’evoluzione del design italiano. Ripropone quattro animali tratti dalla Serie della Natura: “Sei, l’orso”, “Sette, il leone”, “Quattordici, la rana”, “Quindici, il gorilla”. Questa nasce dalla ricerca di trasformare un’immagine in un simbolo attraverso una riduzione programmata che tende all’eliminazione del superfluo a favore del significato, nell’ottica della realizzazione di multipli d’arte. Mari inizia a lavorare sui soggetti che costituiscono questa serie fin dal 1957 quando concepisce la prima versione del Gioco delle Favole. Alcune figure sintetizzate per questo racconto interattivo vengono riprese nelle serigrafie a partire dal 1964 sotto il nome appunto di Serie della Natura. Divenuta un simbolo della produzione Danese, questa serie è tra i pochi esempi di edizioni che raggiungono l’obiettivo di creare per l’ambiente abitativo immagini ‘artistiche’ fondate sul concetto di serialità a favore di una qualità democratica, di un’arte alla portata di tutti. In ognuno di questi soggetti forme e colori sono lungamente studiati ed attentamente calibrati come per creare non delle rappresentazioni fedeli di un soggetto specifico ma delle icone, dei simboli di soggetti archetipi.
Danese presents a new edition to the print Series on Nature by Enzo Mari, graphic works that have marked his artistic life and the evolution of the Italian design. The four animals proposed had already been represented in the first edition, namely “Sei, l’orso”, “Sette, il leone”, “Quattordici, la rana”, “Quindici, il gorilla”. This accomplishment stems from an effort to transform images into symbols, resulting in elegant works of art. The design is minimal and shuns the superfluous. Mari started to work on the different subjects that make up this series in 1957, when he conceived the first version of Gioco delle Favole. In 1964, some of these figures were assembled with some other serigraphs giving rise to the Series of Nature. Thanks to this series of very nice artistic pictures, you can easily enhance your environment. This production, which is within everybody’s reach, has become emblematic of Danese’s democratic approach. Shapes and colors are thoroughly calibrated originating in faithful representations of specific subjects which then become icons, archetypal symbols.

Kerguelen è un totem multifunzionale dedicato all’accoglienza: gli indumenti si appendono ai nove lobi grandi e piccoli della parte terminale, gli ombrelli si ripongono nella cavità inferiore,nei piani ricavati nella parte superiore si possono appoggiare piccoli oggetti, borse, accessori... Nei diversi spazi pubblici o privati può essere liberamente interpretato anche attraverso altri contenuti grazie all’ottimizzazione nella gestione degli spazi contenitivi che offre. E’ uno dei progetti simbolo della produzione Danese, dell’evoluzione del suo percorso a cavallo tra laboratorio artistico artigianale e laboratorio di sperimentazione materica e tecnologica volta alla produzione industriale. E’ il primo elemento che segna per dimensioni e funzionalità l’ingresso della produzione Danese nel settore del mobile con uno spirito innovativo capace di creare un nuovo archetipo dell’arredamento contemporaneo. “E’ un oggetto d’arredo pensato in modo dinamico, attraverso la ricerca di nuove “proprietà strumentali” ovvero attraverso la “polifunzionalità e varietà di percezione formale”, elementi che comportano una proposta di modificazione dell’ambiente, una sorta di interattività dell’oggetto rispetto allo spazio e all’utente.” Casciani, Arte Industiale, 1988 E’ uno dei punti di arrivo della ricerca progettuale, lungamente sviluppata da Enzo Mari, di interventi semplici su forme semplici, di tagli e forature su volumi primari come il cilindro. Ricerca che va dalla sperimentazione più artistica,formale e geometrica sviluppata nella serie dei marmi a quella più applicativa e tecnologica che rappresenta una dimostrazione delle possibilità formali consentite dall’impiego innovativo della macchina industriale come ad esempio nella collezione dei vasi Camicia. Oltre all’innovazione funzionale del racchiudere in un unico elemento più contenitori e supporti che lasciano libertà nella loro interpretazione Mari affronta con Kerguelen nel 1968 la sfida dell’uso della plastica per un prodotto autenticamente industriale nei materiali e nelle tecnologie. Per questo, sebbene la sua forma sia attentamente studiata e calibrata anche dal punto di vista estetico, come se si trattasse di una scultura domestica, le forature e i tagli che modellano l’oggetto sono definite principalmente in base ai vincoli delle tecniche di produzione. A riprova di questo esistono due differenti versioni del prodotto sviluppate in periodi successivi che divergono nelle linee dei tagli per adattarsi all’evolversi del metodo produttivo utilizzato: da taglio di un estruso plastico a stampaggio. La riedizione attuale segue questo principio mantenendo la funzionalità ma adattando le dimensioni alla tecnologia e ai materiali attuali. E’ ricavato dal taglio di un estruso industriale di alluminio, materiale durevole, riciclato e riciclabile, attualmente più in linea con valori di responsabilità ambientale. Questa soluzione lo rende più contemporaneo anche nella riduzione del diametro che, attuata per ragioni produttive, si rivela in linea con l’evoluzione delle esigenze in un’epoca in cui strumenti ed accessori sono ridotti all’essenziale grazie alla tecnologia e gli spazi sono spessi minimi. Questa riduzione non toglie quindi nulla alla sua funzionalità mantenendo invariati il numero di ganci e la conformazione di mensole e vani contenitori.
Kerguelen is a multifunctional totem suitable for hanging clothes and storing objects. Clothes can be hung on nine larger and smaller upper hooks, umbrellas can be placed in the specially provided holder whilst you can put your belongings (purses and other accessories) on other small trays. Equally suitable for home and office, Kerguelen lends itself to interpretation by giving the opportunity to optimize the use of the various storage spaces it offers. This product is emblematic of Danese’s evolution in the field of furniture design over time: its creative approach in works of artistic craftsmanship and its continuous testing that have led to state of the art solutions in terms of materials chosen and manufacturing processes adopted. Kerguelen is that product which marks the entrance of Danese into the realm of furniture production as a company qualified to offer highly creative and innovative items, capable of creating new archetypes in the contemporary world. “It is a piece of furniture designed to spur dynamism through a multi-functional approach and the offer of a new perception of shape, which is ever-changing according to the different ways you can relate to the versatility of this furnishing element”. Casciani, Industrial Art, 1988 This is one of Enzo Mari’s main goals in design research over time. As a matter of fact, such study has led to simple design based on simple shapes and cuts and punctures on primary forms like the cylinder. This investigation goes from the most daring artistic experimentation of shapes and geometries, developed for instance in the series of the marbles, to the highest technology applied. The latter demonstrates the great advantages of industrial processes, as it has been for the Camicia vases. In addition to the unique idea of creating a multi-functional element that allows for freedom and interpretation, in 19xx Mari, with Kerguelen, seized the challenge of using plastic to manufacture a piece of furniture industrially. Special attention has been paid to aesthetics; in fact the product reminds you of what could be a home sculpture. However, design requirements are well served, for example cuts and punctures are dictated by functional reasons but also enhance the look of the product. As a matter of fact, two different versions of the product have been developed over time. They differ in the lines of the cuts according to production requirements: from extruded plastic cutting to molding. This new edition remains true to this principle while maintaining the original functional qualities. However, sizes and materials change for the best. The product is made by cutting an industrial extruded aluminum profile. The materials are durable, recycled and recyclable and respect basic ecological principles. The diameter has been reduced due to production reasons yet this change makes Kerguelen even more contemporary. It turns out to be totally in line with the changing needs in an era in which tools and accessories are reduced to the bare minimum. This new edition is just as highly functional as the previous one and the number of hooks, shelves and storage containers remains the same.

Alvaro è un piccolo specchio da tavolo che si compone con un gesto minimo ed essenziale. Un tondino metallico avvolge e sostiene uno specchio incorniciandolo in una geometria morbida ma regolare che contrasta con il taglio netto della superficie specchiante. Lo specchio è un semplice quadrato privato di un angolo così da creare un quinto lato e imporre un’inclinazione specifica. I due elementi sono all’origine separati per consentire la riduzione degli ingombri in un packaging piatto, il gesto per assemblare il prodotto è semplice e porta alla comprensione dell’oggetto, a una scoperta del suo gioco di equilibri che dà vita con estrema leggerezza ad un elegante ed utile complemento.
Alvaro is a small, simple, table mirror made up with a minimal and essential sign. A metal rod surrounds and supports the mirror framing it in a soft but regular shape that contrasts with the sharp cut of the mirror. The mirror is a simple square with a missing angle so as to create a fifth side and a specific inclination. The two elements are separate and allow for easy disassembly, space-saving, and flat-packing. The product is simple and useful and it is an elegant furnishing element that adds character to the environment.

Partendo dal concetto di una crescita modulare di elementi geometrici sviluppato nell’appendiabiti Rise la famiglia si evolve con un elemento luminoso e un tavolino. In Rise Table sei segmenti di profili a sezione quadrata di alluminio si innestano l’uno nell’altro in sequenza circolare così da chiudere su se stessa una forma autostrutturante capace di sostenere un piano. Questo incrocio tridimensionale di elementi lascia libera la parte centrale consentendo così l’introduzione di un funzionale vassoio estraibile di forma triangolare: un elemento contenitore in cui riporre piccoli oggetti o libri che può essere separato dal piano principale per seguire le differenti attività. Rise Table gioca su una sovrapposizione di geometrie che dal centro triangolare si allargano alla struttura il cui motivo geometrico a base esagonale è visibile attraverso il piano in perspex fumè, fino a chiudersi nel profilo del piano. Questo è costituito da un esagono irregolare che equilibra le differenti estensioni delle proiezioni delle gambe che compongono la struttura secondo inclinazioni non identiche. Questo motivo apparentemente formale nasce però da ragioni funzionali, strutturali, produttive e di attenzione alle implicazioni ambientali. La struttura è progettata per richiudersi permettendo di minimizzare gli ingombri in fase di trasporto, è costituita da semilavorati industriali, monomaterica e facilmente disassemblabile dal piano. Questo è geometricamente studiato per garantire un ottimo equilibrio dei pesi.
Inspired by the variable-geometry modular structure developed in the Rise coat rack, the family now evolves with a lighting element and a coffee table. In the Rise Table, six square aluminum profiles engage one another in a circular sequence forming a self-standing structure that supports the top. This intersection of the three-dimensional elements leaves the central part free allowing the introduction of a useful triangleshaped removable tray. This, in fact, is a container where you can store small objects or books and that can be separated from the main top if needed. The Rise Table is an interplay of geometric elements that widen from the triangular shaped center out to the structure. The top has the shape of an irregular hexagon and is supported by legs that certainly serve functional needs yet add character to the design. The peculiar hexagonal geometric patterns are visible through the grey smoked transparent plexiglass.

Kyudo -letteralmente “la via dell’arco” in Giapponese- è un principio strutturale, un sistema di elementi che crescendo può intervenire a diversi livelli nello spazio. Ispirandosi alle semplici e antiche logiche strutturali dell’arco -che accumula l’energia generata dalla tensione per poi liberarla improvvisamente sulla freccia- Francisco Gomez Paz utilizza questa energia per generare un sistema in equilibrio, un insieme di elementi in permanente tensione che si sorreggono a vicenda nello spazio. La base del sistema è un elemento che richiama metaforicamente e strutturalmente un arco -un semplice tubo di acciaio industriale piegato secondo un profilo geometricamente definito per creare e supportare una tensione- unito da tiranti in acciaio. L’interazione tra archi e corda crea una struttura leggera, sospesa, la cui stabilità non dipende da un sistema meccanico di fissaggio ma dall’equilibrio delle forze contrapposte. Tre archi tenuti in tensione da uno spezzone di corda senza mai entrare in contatto uno con l’altro creano un insieme stabile ed autoportante. In essi si innestano dei ganci in legno per aumentare la funzionalità aggiungendo punti a cui appendere. L’aggiunta di ulteriori archi determina la costruzione di una struttura non più chiusa ma aperta per svilupparsi linearmente nello spazio come un framework. Kyudo non è definibile tipologicamente ma interpretabile nelle sue diverse combinazioni, può accogliere abiti o oggetti, interagire con lo spazio e essere un filtro che attiva situazioni offrendo spazi per accogliere, appendere o appoggiare.
Kyudo-literally means “the way of the bow” in Japanese - is a structural principle, a system of elements that, when increasing the number, it can suit the space in different ways. Inspired by the original logic behind a bow, which stores the energy generated by the tension and then releasing the arrow, Francisco Gomez Paz uses this energy to create a system in equilibrium: a set of elements in permanent tension, which sustain each other in space. The basis of the system evokes a bow metaphorically and structurally - a simple industrial steel tube bent according to a geometrically defined profile to create and sustain tension -coupled with steel rods. The structure made of arches and ropes is light, suspended. The stability is not dependent on a mechanical fixing system, yet on balancing the opposing forces. Three arches kept in tension by a length of rope without ever coming into contact with each other, creating a stable and selfsupporting system. In the arches are inserted wooden hooks to increase functionality adding points to hang. The addition of further arches allows the structure to expand linearly in the space like a frame work. Kyudo doesn’t fall into a specific category, but it is so original that can be used in many different combinations so that people can interact with it, accommodating objects or hanging clothes.

Il sistema Farallon table si arricchisce di una nuova finitura del piano realizzato ora anche in multistrato impiallacciato noce Canaletto. Farallon Table è una famiglia di tavoli che si rivela assolutamente trasversale tra mondo domestico e lavorativo, tra situazioni operative e intervalli di relax, tra spazi pubblici e privati. Il principio strutturale riprende forme e tecnologie delle sedute farallon, sulle gambe costituite da un tubo cromato piegato è fissato un sottile piano metallico che curva per accompagnare morbidamente e senza spigoli il finire delle superfici. Il risultato è una linea essenziale, un profilo leggerissimo ma resistente, un linguaggio senza tempo capace di adattarsi a qualsiasi ambiente e dialogare con stili diversi. il sistema si declina in due piani di dimensioni ridotte pensati per affiancarsi a sedute o altri piani di lavoro e in un tavolo scrivania più tradizionale con una superficie di 60x120 cm. I due piani più piccoli hanno due altezze studiate per garantire la massima funzionalità e per combinarsi tra loro. Anche la loro larghezza è infatti calcolata perchè il tavolo più grande accolga il piccolo così da garantire un minimo ingombro o aggiungere funzionalità e possibilità applicative attraverso la loro composizione. The Farallon product family is enriched by a new finiture of the top made by plywood Canaletto walnut veneered. Farallon Table is a range of tables that are absolutely suitable for both home and work environments, where people interact or rest in both public and private spaces. The structural principles and technological approaches are the same as they were for Farallon chairs: a harmoniously folded thin metallic surface, which curves shaping the surfaces softly, set on the legs made of chrome rods. The design is clean and elegant: a light profile yet durable, a timeless product that can be interpreted creatively in any environment and interact with different styles. The system offers two small tops designed to go along with chairs or other work surfaces and a more traditional writing desk that provides a 60x120 cm working area. The two smaller tops are practical and easy to combine with each other because two different heights can be set. Also, their width is calculated so that it can be easy to insert one top into another, ensuring minimum encumbrance and allowing the users to create different arrangements. These supporting surfaces for new technological devices (laptops, iphones, ipads etc), which nowadays play important roles in every situation, allow users to be effective in informal situations. They can also simply be supporting surfaces for everyday objects. The more traditional table provides a large working area. Pianist è uno sgabello regolabile in altezza pensato per affiancare il tavolo Chaos Manger. Come nel primo progetto Guixè affronta al tema dell’ufficio con un punto di vista spiazzante, fuori dal consueto che ben rispecchia la visione di Danese di un ufficio in cui gli ambienti di passaggio e residuali diventano luoghi fondamentali di incontro, scambio, relazione informale ma ricca di significati e di valori per l’arricchimento della vita lavorativa. Pianist è uno sgabello regolabile in altezza per seguire la flessibilità di Chaos Manager o per accostarsi a qualsiasi altra superficie di lavoro, supportando un’operatività temporanea in spazi lavorativi ma dinamici di incontro, relazione, scambio. Il suo nome è un omaggio al tipico sgabello da pianista, il primo impatto richiama immediatamente una forma archetipa ma traspare al tempo stesso un’espressività nella matericità forte e nelle proporzioni quasi sbilanciate tra gli elementi che danno carattere alla sua linea. Pianist si rivela una seduta trasversale e versatile da interpretare secondo le necessità, capace di adattarsi alle diverse decinazioni dei ritmi quotidiani e ai suoi intervalli, perfetto per luoghi pubblici o privati.
“Pianist” is an adjustable height stool recently introduced to come along with the Chaos Manger table. As in his first project, Guixè uses his wildest imagination and conceives something completely out of the ordinary for the office environment. Guixè’s originality design has always been in line with Danese’s vision for office spaces where multipurpose areas become key places where work life balance is enhanced. It is here where people meet, exchange information and reinforce informal relationships. “Pianist” is a stool with adjustable height that emulates Chaos Manager’s flexibility and goes along with any other work surface, supporting temporary operability (suitable for meetings and relationship building) in dynamic work spaces. Its name is a tribute to the typical piano stool. It immediately comes across as archetypal, yet its materials are strongly expressive and its proportions among the elements are almost unbalanced, enhancing its line. “Pianist” proves to be a versatile and transversal sitting stool to be used according one´s need, it is able to adapt to different situations and daily rhythms, and perfect for public or private places.
