In this guide, you'll find all the information you need to ensure a smooth and memorable experience capturing those precious first moments of your baby's life Whether you ' re a first-time parent or adding another bundle of joy to your family, I’m here to help you every step of the way.

BEFORE
Life with a Newborn Is such an amazing an exciting time of your life! There’s some planning involved to make the shoot more successful The photos are best done within the first 2-3 weeks of life. I like to book a tentative shoot date 1 after the due date. If the baby comes early or late, no worries! I only take so many newborns each month and can move around sessions if needed Please bring all the essential baby items with you, such as a bottle, change of clothes, diapers, and pacifier Before we start, we will have a chat at the studio to get to know each other and discuss expectations.
WHAT TO EXPECT from your session
DURING AFTER
The studio will be nice and warm for the baby to be comfortable. I will use different kinds of backdrops and props to get the most versatile pictures possible I usually like to begin with the baby first Please make sure they have a full tummy prior to arrival. If the baby becomes fussy, I usually like to move on with the family photos. 90% of the time the baby will then soothe back to sleep
After our session, I like to send a sneak peak of 4-6 fully edited photos about 3 days after the session The full edited gallery usually takes about 3 weeks to be delivered. Once It Is sent via email, a special link will allow you to view, download and order prints. All galleries must be downloaded by 3 weeks The gallery Is then archived for 1 year with my studio All digital Images come with a print authorization form as well.
HOW TO PREPARE for your shoot
Feed your baby before the session is scheduled to begin No worries If you have a long drive, you are welcome to feed again at the studio.
If you are okay with baby using one, bring a pacifier, even if baby doesn’t seem to take to it. Sucking is a soothing mechanism & can really help with settling baby once I have them in place for photos, even if I have to hold the pacifier
The studio will be warm. Baby’s like being warm and having the heat cranked up (no matter the time of year), helps baby stay settled and sleepy. You are more than welcome to bring drinks and a change of clothes to change out of if you think you’ll get hot.
There is no need to bring anything for baby to wear. I provide all the wraps, headbands, hats, clothes & props Unless there is something special you want to bring for your newborn’s photos, don’t worry about outfits If there is something special you want to bring, be sure to let me know so I can work a set around it.
Go simple for family’s wardrobe. When planning your outfits for the family & sibling shots, stick with soft, neutral colors like grey or cream as the dominate colors This keeps the focus on baby and the family connection.

WHEN TO BOOK your newborn shoot
The best moment is to start thinking about your newborn session is when you ’ re expecting your baby. This will guarantee you’ll book the session date of your choice. My calendar does fill up quickly.
Typically, I schedule newborn sessions between five and ten days after their birth for best results Although, I will schedule newborns at any age, 1 strongly encourage parents to schedule sessions when babies are at least under 1 month of age

All newborn photo sessions are held in my cozy studio located in downtown Painesville, Ohio, where every detail is carefully curated to create a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Soft lighting, gentle music, and comfortable seating ensure both parents and their little ones feel relaxed and at ease. I always tell parents it’s your time to relax and maybe take a nap, I’ve got the baby!
My studio is equipped with a variety of props and backdrops to capture those precious moments in a unique and beautiful way.
I aim to make this experience a cherished memory for your family, celebrating the beginning of a new journey together.

I absolutely love capturing heartwarming moments as your family grows! So if you ’ ve got siblings and pets, definitely bring them along They add such a special touch to the photos.
I encourage the kids to just be themselves whether they’re joking around, playing, or just having a good time, those natural interactions often lead to the most genuine and heartfelt shots.
Pets can also bring a unique charm to the pictures. When I am visiting your home, they are more than welcome to be in the photos.
HOW TO BOOK
GET IN TOUCH a session
Are you as excited as I am to start the process? Once you have chosen the best photography package for your family, the booking process is very easy. Next, we will decide on a date that will work for both of us. I will send out an online contract and invoice detailing our session together. Once you have read and agreed, please sign and pay the $100 deposit. After that is complete, you can sit back and relax! I will reach out 1-2 weeks prior to the session to make sure we are on schedule. Adjustments can be made if needed:)

FREQUENTLY ASKED questions
What should we bring to the photo session?
It’s a good idea to bring extra diapers, wipes, and a change of clothes for both the baby and parents. If your baby uses a pacifier, bringing one can be helpful. Feel free to bring any special blankets or props you’d like to include in the photos.
How long does a typical photo session last?
A typical newborn photo session lasts between 2 to 3 hours This allows plenty of time for feeding, changing, and soothing your baby as needed, while also providing ample opportunity to capture a variety of beautiful images.
What safety measures do you take during the session?
Your baby's safety is my top priority I am trained in handling newborns safely and will ensure all props and equipment are sanitized before each session.
