Stage 4 Music

The aim of Stage 4 music is to provide students with the opportunity to acquire the knowledge, understanding and skills necessary for active engagement and enjoyment in performing, composing and listening. Students are given the opportunity to develop skills in singing, acoustic guitar, ukulele, keyboard, percussion and the drum-kit as well as other instruments.

Stage 5 Music

Students explore a range of performance options, musicology, composition and listening skills. There are no theoretical prerequisites, however, it is necessary to learn a musical instrument or sing.

Stage 6 Music

There are two preliminary courses –Music 1 and Music 2. There are no prerequisites for Music 1, but an instrumental or vocal ability is needed for the HSC examination. The concepts of Music are studied through performance, composition, musicology and listening. The Music 2 course provides opportunity to further develop knowledge, skills and understanding, with an adaptable curriculum that suits the particular skill set of the student

Stage 4 Visual Arts

The aim of Stage 4 Visual Arts is to enable students to develop their abilities to represent ideas, both practically and conceptually, as well as critically and historically, so they can interpret art informed by their understanding of key syllabus concepts. Students make a range of artworks including painting, drawing, ceramics, animation and printmaking.

Stage 5 Visual Arts

The aim of Stage 4 Visual Arts is to enable students to develop their abilities to represent ideas, both practically and conceptually, as well as critically and historically, so they can interpret art informed by their understanding of key syllabus concepts. Students make a range of artworks including painting, drawing, ceramics, animation and printmaking.

Stage 4 Drama

The aim of Drama in Year 7 is to engage and challenge students to maximise their abilities and enjoyment of drama and theatre through making, performing and appreciating dramatic and theatrical works. Topics explored are Improvisation, Scripted Drama, Fairy Tales and Creating Characters.

Stage 5 Drama

In Drama, students develop communication, collaboration, knowledge and critical thinking skills through performing self-devised and scripted drama using a variety of performance techniques. Students study a range of dramatic contexts such as playbuilding and scripted drama.

Stage 6

Visual Arts

The aim of Stage 4 Visual Arts is to enable students to develop their abilities to represent ideas, both practically and conceptually, as well as critically and historically, so they can interpret art informed by their understanding of key syllabus concepts. Students make a range of artworks including painting, drawing, ceramics, animation and printmaking.

Stage 6 Drama

The Preliminary course entails experiential learning in playbuilding, acting, elements of production in performance and theatrical traditions. The HSC course entails studying drama through a practical exploration of themes, issues, styles and movements.
