Hello and welcome to our 2024 newsletter In our latest newsletter, we will take you through what we’ve been up to, and show you: the communities we’ve had the privilege of serving this year. our 2024 publications and events we attended.

Founder’s Message Dear DancingMind Community,

What an amazing year of 2024! As we look back, we have accomplished a great deal — our collaborations with our partners have brought unexpectedly meaningful changes to the lives of patients, seniors, children, and countless others.

A unique and profoundly impactful aspect of our journey has been witnessing the amazing difference our solutions have made for homebound patients. From working closely with stroke patients and people with dementia (PwD), to making strides in addressing the challenges faced by individuals with Parkinson’s disease, ALS, and other conditions, we have witnessed how patients have empowered themselves with our tools and guidance.

We are extremely proud of how far they have come since they started their journey with us, and we cannot wait to share the results of these projects with you.

To our amazing befriender team: Your dedication has not only improved lives but also deepened our understanding of the immense potential our team and solution hold. Every achievement we’ve reached is truly a testament to your hard work, service, and resilience.

2024 Events Digital for Life (DfL) Partners’ Appreciation 2024 After our participation in the DfL festival last year, and becoming an IMDA partner, we were invited to the partners’ appreciation this year!

We had a great time connecting with major digital partners, His Excellency, President Tharman, and many of our current clients and collaborators at the ceremony.

DancingMind is honoured and thrilled to be a partner with IMDA for the Digital for Life Movement, where we introduce the latest in digital health and therapeutics to many Singaporeans.

The intuitive applications that the seniors tried out at the events helped them build confidence with technology, and gave

everyone immersive experiences that aided their mood, cognition, and physical health.

We greatly enjoyed re-connecting with the residents at THK Nursing Home following our project commencement with them prior to the pandemic!

It was an absolute joy to meet new and familiar faces and have our befriender team connect with the residents and THK’s Therapists and TAs again.

The residents greatly enjoyed the group activities and personalised sessions. Their words of praise and appreciation left us with a wonderful sense of connection that we hope to re-ignite in 2025!

2024 Events BCARE @ Compassvale Weekend Events DancingMind held multiple weekend booths for the seniors staying around BCARE @ Compassvale!

As their collaborative partner, we introduced new seniors to DM and BCARE’s Digital Heath programme.

Many seniors enjoyed the mood management applications, worked hard with the physio and sports applications, and challenged themselves with our cognitive training!

Through this, we worked to potentially increase the number of new participants in the centre and increase awareness of the variety of new programmes and activities at Bethesda Care AAC.

Health & Wellness Carnival (Tembusu AAC 4S) At the Health & Wellness Carnival in Kampung Eunos, we connected with seniors and residents while sharing our active aging solutions.

A big thank you to 4S for organising the event, and to everyone who visited our booth, and to the GOHs—Southeast District Mayor Fahmi and Minister for Manpower Dr. Tan, who emphasized the importance of community engagement and government support for health and wellness initiatives.

Together, we’re helping the elderly to age gracefully and forging a supportive and inclusive community!

2024 Events

SkillsFuture Fair 2024 At

the

SkillsFuture

Festival

2024,

we

saw

overwhelming support and enthusiasm from everyone who visited our booth. It was a pleasure to see so many children and seniors trying out our solution and enjoying their time with us.

A heartfelt thank you to SkillsFuture SG, the Lifelong Learning Institute, and Southeast CDC for their support.

A special shoutout to Mayor Mohd Fahmi Aliman and Mr Lim Biow Chuan for stopping by and giving us their approval!

Sportcares “Play Inclusive” We also had the opportunity to have a booth at Play Inclusive 2024. The National Stadium was filled with positivity over the weekend, and there was amazing energy, and drive to bring the best to inclusive sports and play. SportCares has been benefitting PwDs tirelessly since 2016 and we are glad to be a part of its journey.

We had such a great time connecting with everyone, and hope that our visitors have learnt about how the immersiveness of VR is a powerful motivator to get active.

2024 Events IMDA Digital for Life IMDA had us for a 2nd year in a row at the Digital for Life Festival 2024! We connected with other partners at the event, and showcased our methods to improve physical, mental and psychological well-being.

All our boothgoers had a good time with our immersive experience — whether they were octogenarians in their golden years or just starting school.

We’re happy to have the chance to share about digital therapy with the public.

Sportcares “A Day to Remember” DancingMind attended “A Day To Remember”, organized by SportCares for seniors from Active Ageing Centres (AAC) from around Singapore, as well as seniors with dementia and their families.

We were pleased to collaborate with the SportCares to be able to provide a good experience to the seniors, and to meet some seniors from our partner AACs participating in this event.

We greatly enjoyed meeting the GOH MP Xie Yao Quan, as well as the amazing seniors and persons with disabilities. Their presence and engagement has made the event a success and truly special.

2024 Publications Clinical studies that validate our effectiveness and safety.

Sengkang General Hospital Joint Study: Bridging Communication in Dementia` DancingMind has collaborated with Sengkang General Hospital (SKH) in a pilot study to use VR as a communication tool to improve conversations between people with dementia (PwD) and their caregivers, thus alleviating PwD’s social isolation and caregiver stress.

Compared to traditional communication aids, which have limited impact, our VR tool made the PwDs more engaged, smile, maintain eye contact, and initiate conversations.

VR has huge potential to improve communication for PwD, and we are confident that after refining the VR interface and providing caregiver training, we can optimize the tool's effectiveness. We are perfectly aligned with SKH’s goal to innovate dementia care and support healthy ageing, and thus, we continue to improve our technologies to manage behavioural and physical symptoms of dementia (BPSD).

Asian Women’s Welfare Association Together with AWWA, we embarked on a VR project, MindWarrior, which is oriented for children with special needs.

We believe that it is ever more important to better equip our next generation with important life skills, which is why we’re focussed on improving accessibility for children.

We’re continuing to orient our technologies for even more groups of people, creating fun yet effective technologies for all.

2024 Activities

Precious AAC Our time with Precious AAC at Compassvale Ancilla was truly an experience to remember!

We were greeted with warmth and enthusiasm from the seniors, who were full of energy and excitement for the programme ahead.

programmes, and even gave us ideas for their ideal sports and health pursuits that they wanted to do during retirement.

We are so grateful to have helped in enriching lives and empowering them to pursue holistic health!

HNF Wellness@Hougang Over a period of 5 weeks, elderly residents at HNF quickly picked up how to use our headsets,

and

also

did

a

lot

of

CCRT

programmes!

We’re glad to hear that the residents always look forward to these sessions, and also got to become sharper, more active, and have a better mood overall.

Our collaboration was a big success and we hope to create such experiences with more seniors in the future!

2024 Activities

CareElderly @ Golden Ginger Here’s some moments from our recent visit to Care Elderly@Golden Ginger! The elderly had a really good time enjoying our various VR programmes—from singing along in foreign landscapes, to getting active through sports, and working through tougher puzzles by the week.

We’re glad that they’ve liked it, and we wish to create more of these experiences for others too!

Moral AAC @ Kaki Bukit Moral AAC @ Kaki Bukit collaborated with us on a six month project, and their drive to bringing digital therapy to as many residents as possible has been truly inspiring!

Thanks to the enthusiasm of the residents, and the diligence of staff, every session was smooth and bountiful.

Working with Moral has been wonderful, and we look forward to our next partnership!

As we look to the future in 2025, we are filled with excitement about the journey ahead. This past

year

has

seen

our

solution

being

embraced across a spectrum of ageing and medical avenues—from Active Ageing Centres and Senior Care Centres to Nursing Homes, Hospitals, and even patients’ homes.

From here on out, we are dedicated and motivated to expand further in all of these avenues, and witness our team of amazing individuals shape a future where digital health and quality support are accessible to all.
