Final Year - Sem B Project - The Portal

This project is an attempt to improve the missing flexibility of flats which make them future proof, while at the same time attempting to implement the 15 minute city concept within the dense/residential locations that could be found in the city of St Albans.

Isometric View - Development of Street

Design Intent

The design intends to highlight key factors that make a sociable housing /community space while attempting to combat urban loneliness.

The design was moslty influenced by the term “ building of bridges”, there by creating forms that connected households together while seperated by a “new road” which acts as community hub connecting residents with the public that become allured by the design and shape that breaks the frontage of the street , while at the same time connecting st albans, through its angular shape that invites you in, as well creates views towards the heritage site that is the Church of St Peters.

Which fulffils one of the major aspects that aid in combating urban loneliness. Shared Experiences.

DEVELOPMENT OF THE UNDERDEVELOP SITES

INTEGRATION WITH THE CITY

CONNECTIVITY BETWEEN RESIDENTS & PEDESTRIANS VIEWS TO HERITAGE
SKETCHED VIEWS OF INTERNAL SPACES

Floor Plans

The appartments are designed to accommodate young families in St albans, of which they would later be able to introduce more mass into their homes to accommodate for an additional user. creating the feeling of a starter home that can later easily develop into a long term home. Thereby removing the need for the residents to leave the town, when they decide to expand their respective families

How to Retrofit

Final Year Retrofit

- Sem A Project

This project was provided to the University of Hertfordshire for the conceptual design of the the Science block Located adjacent to the Main reception building and Main Building of College Lane campus of the University of Hertfordshire.

ISOMETRIC VIEW - DEVELOPMENT OF FACADE

Design Intent

To redesign a space that has eroded with time, by implementing its existing facade and enveloping this, with a veil that can be used to regulate the solar gain within the buildng, this is achieved by reusing the existing material on site to mould the known façade completely, while at the same time implementing newer techniques that can aid in improving the overall qualities of life and space.

Elevations & Sections

These elevations and sections show how the new facade and extension would affect the building.

Mainly the interaction between the new facade and the building as well as the other changes to the building, such as it’s curviture and how the light affects the veil and the building.

Latina Summer SchoolLe Mazzini

This week long project was a group collaboration in Italy, where we were tasked with redesigning a street near the town center of Latina, Italy. These are some of the grapahics produced by the end of the week, which include this site analysis and renders.

Conceptual Visualisation

During this project we wished to provide various experiences along the strip, we intended to achieve this by manipulating the street and landscape, decideing to remove vehicle access and making the strip a walkable experience.

Later separating the strip into various zones that would have their own programs within its respective zone.

Design Intent & Images

During this project we wished to enhance the natural landscape and views on site, while softening the “jaggedness” and awkardness on some of the streets alongsite.

We attempted to do this by creating frames into the landscape from the street, as well as creating other frames from some of the internal spaces. Both for the aesthetic aspect of the design aswell as the practical aspect where these frames would act as harbours for the AI drones
