MILO GOLDING - NATIONAL DOODLE FOR GOOGLE WINNER

On June 14, Milo Golding was named the National Doodle for Google Winner. Our high school senior was featured on NBC's "The Today Show" and honored by Governor Andy Beshear and Mayor Linda Gorton in a special ceremony held at Lexington's City Hall. Milo's artwork appeared on google.com on Tuesday, June 15. In addition to the special recognition of his entry, Milo received a $30,000 college scholarship!

DECORATING SENIORS' CARS

Parents continued the annual tradition of decorating the seniors' cars on the first day of school.

CONVOCATION

On Wednesday, August 25, the members of the Class of 2022 gathered in the gymnasium along with their families for the annual Senior Convocation. We look forward to this event each year, as it is a time for parents, teachers, and mentors to pray over the students for this coming year and beyond.

Justan Borth, LCA High School Spiritual Life Director, and Dr. Cassondra Koett, LCA High School Principal, led this special event. They, along with high school teacher, Robyn Iler, and Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Lisa Bacon, guided the families in a special time of prayer. Dr. Scott Wells, LCA Head of School, gave the convocation address, and the LCA Women's Chamber Choir provided special music.

ACADEMICSCLASS OF 2022 - PAGE 23 NATIONAL MERIT FINALISTS

Seniors Tia Alchureiqi and Logan Beck were recognized as National Merit Finalists. The National Merit Scholarship program recognizes students who score well on the PSAT. Those who score in the top 1% are deemed semi-finalists. Merit Scholarships are awarded to approximately 7,500 finalists between March and June. Congratulations to Tia and Logan on this wonderful accomplishment!

LOCKER NOTES

The high school faculty and staff left an encouraging note on each senior's locker wishing them a great year.

Seniors gathered for a fun morning to watch the sunrise before school on September 24.

COCA-COLA SCHOLAR SEMI-FINALISTS

Congratulations to seniors, Tia Alchureiqi and Milo Golding, on being two of the 2022 Coca-Cola Scholar Semi-Finalists!

1,617 students were selected from more than 68,000 applicants from across the country to continue through the selection process based on their academic excellence, leadership, and service demonstrated in school and community activities.

“Milo and Tia are two extraordinary young adults who have devoted themselves to making a difference in the lives of others. They are a shining example for others to follow, " said Dr. Cassondra Koett, LCA High School Principal.
