Areas of focus in this role include: collaboration with fellow faculty in drafting / refining assignments to meet NAAB criteria, aiding students in advancing projects through critiques, iterative assignments, as well as leading discussions on readings, presentations, and similar subject matter.
ARCH254 - architectural design II
This studio focuses on the fundamentals of preliminary building design, from skills developed in ARCH151 & 152, such as site analysis, to concepts of health, safety and welfare, the critical role of the architect. Students are tasked with: critically analyzing their site, developing their own program, and applying these concepts to a building design that adequately addresses the aforementioned principles of the architect.
Areas of focus in this role include: developing presentations and lectures that highlight the design fundamentals of architecture, guiding students through the design process, general computer skills, like the Adobe Suite and Rhino, and presentation skills.

As an office of one in Bozeman, I was independently in control of time management and responding to material in a timely manner without direct supervision. Montana State University’s School of Architecture is in dire need of expansion due to increasing numbers. Elizabeth Emil and I were tasked with assisting Ralph Johnson, then director of the SOA, to develop a schematic design for the renovation of the SOB Barn on campus.
