Portrait The folds of the shirt required an understanding of where the outwards or inwards folds of the shirt would occur. Heavy line weights emphasized on areas where it contained greater depth than the rest. Tint, tone, and shadows were brought into composition to bring depth and volume to the elements within the frame.

Portrait The coat worn in the illustration contains a knit texture, so different line weights and highlights were added following the structure of the body, creating a similar crosshatching effect of the fabric. A blue background is implemented to add contrast the foreground col ors. Moreover, the line weights emphasized the depth and volume of each individual element seen.

21 Watercolor
After experimenting with staining watercolor marks, this project’s aim was to manipulate the shadows and highlights within the original photograph and create these droplets of colors and let it flow on its own. This project required the use of photoshop to posturize the original image before we begin to illustrate. The image was taken with high contrast, lots of darks and crisp details in order to achieve this dramatic portrait illustration.

Narrative Space
panorama multimediaVRdesign course submission
A narrative space that visually represents the Chinese Lunar Year festival through the choice of color, design, and architectural elements. The dragon drawn above represents the celebration of the year of the dragon. This panorama VR was created by dividing the envi ronment into cubes: front, back, up, down, left, and right. Once all the cubes are drawn while intersecting at an area, the VR is then rendered to an equirectan gular image.

67 character Multimediadesigndesign course submission Walking cycle DeeDee is a frame-by-frame 2D animation inspired by the “stay at home” quarantine life that started during the beginning of last year. The character is influenced by the designer’s personal life as she drags her pillow around to rest somewhere. Hidden designs within the environment, such as the animation on the TV and the framed images on the wall, were added as a reference to previous projects that the designer has worked on.
