Family & friends help Esther Peters celebrate 95th birthday Esther Peters, whose career in local broadcasting spans more than five decades and who has interviewed some of the country’s most iconic politicians and entertainers in that time period, as well as many local figures, turned 95 yesterday. A well-attended birthday party was held at the Taylor Community in Laconia, where she lives. The combined effect will be an average 2.72-percent raise for teachers and if approved by voters, would cost an additional $267,853 in salaries.
