TILTON — The Board of Selectmen last night accepted the recommendation of the Life Safety Building Committee to convert part of an empty industrial building at 61 Business Park Drive to a police station. After reviewing 31 different properties, the committee chose the site over the alternative of purchasing two lots on East Main Street (Rte. 3) at the southwest corner of its intersection with Morrison Avenue and constructing a police station on the site. The town acquired 61 Business Park Drive for $1.5-million in 2008 anticipating that it would house an element of the Tilton-Northfield Fire Department as well as the Tilton Police Department.
